Kato Hisaki made his Japanese kickboxing debut today on the Nagoya promotion S-Battle. No vids up yet, but he defeated his opponent via 1RKO. Dropped him first with low kicks, then with a superman punch, then KO'd him with low kicks. The opponent got taken out a stretcher apparently
BLACK DRAGON brings a couple of good assets vs. Koya. Namely, he looks suitably intimidating but has very low probability of upsetting him, keeping him active but not derailed until Gonnapar disposes of Sasaki Daizo and makes his way back to K-1 for a rematch

Am I seeing this right? The "anti K-1 Japan coalition" is actually cutting away at itself? Guess they must think the industry is in much better shape than I give it credit for, hmmm. And the story about the shadow owner of K-1 is getting me a bit interested as well. Is KanchÅ Ishii back in the biz? This is the 2nd anti-K-1 coalition too. BLADE got started up back in 2015 as a way to contain Krush-1 cause they were terrified of exclusive contracts. Then they started butting heads in scheduling and realized that its pretty dang hard to keep top talent around without them and broke apart. While rumors of Kancho Ishii's involvement pops up now and again, the guy purported to be K-1 Japan's owner is a LOT shadier. If the rumors are true... imagine the worst case scenario and triple it. I've shared some thoughts and evidence with a CombatPress guy who was looking into it, so he might release an article sometime

Oh God no lol! I clearly have my favorites, but competition is good. Let's hope they can all make each other grow, even though we know they'll probably keep stabbing each other in the back lol. #Kickboxing Speaking of stabbing each other in the back. RISE is doing a big 6.17 event in Makuhari Messe (again same day as K-1 Japan). Only hitch is, a lot of their homegrown talent are prepping for a KNOCK OUT GP from May so they couldn't take a fight for that event. That might have miffled them, cause they just declared that they're doing Tenshin vs Rodthung in June just days after the KNOCK OUT promoter made headlines in Japan saying they wanted to put together that fight effectively crushing their promotional plan for the rest of the year. Speaking of that June event, HIROYA is on it (opponent TBA)! You'd think that means all the TRY HARD guys are going to RISE then, but Rukiya and Riku have been spotted training outside of Tokyo repping something called "Team ALL-WIN", so likely they've defected from the defectors #Jkick_game_of_thrones

Glory, K-1 and Kunlun (unless they go bankrupt [too]) could be even clearer kings of kickboxing come next year just by sticking around. K-1 Japan always has that problem with the owners that can always lead to them imploding. So Glory via grit?

Danenberg injured; Thongchai in to face Doumbe at GLORY 53 LILLE Eh, I'll take it. ONE seems to be moving once again onto the Japan space. They signed a partnership with Abema promising to put on 2 Japanese fighters on its cards going forward in exchange for Abema broadcasting. I know they've reached out to Genji Umeno to get him on the April card (didn't pan out). Tenshin's going to EVOLVE for a week, so perhaps they're making overtures to him as well? ATM I feel the same about them as I do about Bellakick. Do I have faith that they're going to make a consistent kickboxing product I'm gonna tune in regularly like Glory or K-1 Japan? Heck no. But if I do get a couple of fun fights out of them like Yodsaenklai and Masolobojev vs Plazibat, then there's no harm

Was that the bit on the K1 Twitter? I saw him talking and while it looked like they were supposed to be talking about their upcoming opponents Uehara looked like he was about to have a breakdown. Yeah, Uehara had said even when they were matched up to fight each other that he considered Uehara to be a 'war buddy' since they were on the same Late FEG -> Glory -> K-1 Japan route over the past decade and experienced all of the worst of the fight bubble popping.

Uehara was tearing up earlier saying that Koichi's first kid was just born a couple months ago and he was excitedly sharing pictures. RIP indeed

Daalder, the guy who does a lot of the European matchmaking, is his manager. I mean, I'm not gonna say that Beztati doesn't deserve the fight, because I'm certain others turned it down, but surely he's not ready for THIS sort of challenge, right? Sittichai has entered that area where he's already beaten everyone in the org that's a credible threat to him, so he gets fed anyone who gets even a single promising win. The Mighty Mouse Zone. Unrelated but Glory/K-1 veteran Koichi passed away. Car accident. RIP EDIT: I'm an idiot. Thought I was in the news thread. RIP nonetheless
