Happening this Saturday... or not! Lol it never gets old, because their cards keep getting ruined last minute.
Seriously though the main card does look nice if it happens as is.

Oh lol yeah here we go. It's not hard to predict when it happens every single event at this point.
I hope it's nothing too bad and Holloway is going to be okay, because 'hard to wake up and slurred speech' sounds pretty fucking ominous to me.
About the fight not happening, I don't mind as the ones I'm looking forward too are Miocic vs. DC and the Ngannou and Saki fights.

It pains my heart, but as I said before, saki is shot to the bits and it was obvious since he fought ciobanu( who was on a 9 fight losing streak at the time), yet even that shot Ciobanu won the second round and had a competitive round 3 with saki. Then it came his first ufc fight with Henrique da Silva. Henrique da Silva is one of the worst strikers I have ever seen in MMA, yet saki almost got finished by him in the stand up, and let's be honest he got lucky, if the referee didn't stop the fight so early I don't think he would have won the fight, as he was done already despite the punch that dropped Da silva
I really don't want to see shot kickboxers in mma... It will make kickboxing look weak. I would rather see someone like Israel who is still in his prime and not totally shot.
Mike Passenier himself said in a interview that the reason why saki was not fighting anymore was because he was ridden with injuries and could not even put a camp together anymore because of those injuries.
Some might say that the same was true with Aerts starting to the early 2000's too and yet he continued to be succesful. Yes,but Peter has a different fighting style and body. Saki is all about speed, reflexes and explosion and we all know that those are first to go when your body isn't the same anymore. I mean look at Badr Hari... he is SHOT too, but because he is so tall and has more tools than saki (jab, straight punches, reach, height) he was able to change his style in the last 5 years and find some success( though still far from his prime). Saki doesn't have those tools, he can't change his style. And also he has no juice in UFC... If you used to juice and then stopped, your body is fucked, because now it won't even produce the normal quantity of hormones/testosteron that it produced before starting taking steroids. So you need to take PEDs until the end of your career as your body can't function properly anymore without them.

About the Francis vs Lewis... please, do yourself a favour and DO NOT watch that fight. Basically it was worse than Kimbo vs huston Alexander and also beat the record for the least strikes landed in a UFC fight ... They both should have been disqualified.

Oh man, Saki lost HARD to a fighter with a very modest fight record. If it was just a shot coming out of nowhere it might have just been a case of a fighter getting caught, but Saki was getting clipped before the KO. Saki was never that hittable and in mma he doesn't have the luxury of hiding behind big gloves like in kickboxing. I don't really like Saki's chances in mma going forward.
I agree with samurai1 in that I don't want to see past their prime kickboxers cross over to another sport. I don't like anyone leaving kickboxing to begin with, period. Here's hoping Hesdy rethinks his plans.
Good thing I didn't watch Francis vs. Lewis. H told me that it was awful as well.
On to something I can be positive about: Daniel Cormier: what a boss!! Ends Stipe's dominant era just like that. I hope at some point in the future DC gets his redemption and manages to KO Bones.

Saki Yeah, not the young Saki anymore. At least he got paid better this time around so it hasn't been a complete waste to go to MMA. I'd imagine he'll still get at least one fight before UFC might be done unless he looks better. Felt like Stipe got a bit unfocused/lazy a couple times and then it cost him the fight. Very happy for DC. Not that he hasn't been successful but to get to end it like this, hw belt, Lesnar fight/payday... Unless of course he kept going till Aerts years but I think he is towards his last fights anyways. Quite liked the way they promo'd it too even if it is fake nonsense.

fat guy learned from Bones book with those eyepokes.
I blame the MMA rules though... I would put a rule of 1 point deduction for any eyepoke. Intentional or not.

I want to see them where they are the best at, which is Kickboxing. But if they really want to make the transition I would wish to at least not be some kickboxers that are shot. I personally don't think that even the gloves would help saki much these days. He has two big problems: 1.As Mike himself said... He couldn't even finish a 1 month camp because of so many injuries that kept repeating again and again and again that kept him away from fighting for almost 3 years... 2.PEDs... Taking peds for a long period and then stop taking them would ruin your body. Once you took PEDs you have to take them until the end of your career otherwise your body won't be able to produce the normal amounts of hormones/testosteron anymore as it did before starting taking them. Getting in the UFC where you can't use them anymore was a terrible move for Saki. Even if he comes back to kickboxing and gets on juice I don't see him being even top 20 fighter at this point... this is how ridden his body is with injuries and surgeries.

While I do agree with you, I'm not fully buying that the 3 year layoff was all due to injuries. I think it's a combination of two problems:
- I think Saki was living the good life in Dubai and somewhere along the way he got cocky and his demands got a lot higher. Which meant there was a lot of time where nothing really happened i.e. wasted time.
- The few times there were actual talks of him fighting someone the fights ended up not happening because - I suspect - Saki ran into injuries among other issues i.e. financial disagreements and spite towards Glory over the whole Rico situation. He just couldn't let that go.
And before you knew it between early 2014 and mid 2017 Saki only had one fight: the one where he came in fat against Ciobanu.
By the time he realized this situation wasn't going to work out for him long-term he already threw away 3 years of his prime, but somehow was still able to get a UFC contract.
At this point I'd say Saki should finish off what's left of his UFC contract, which I would guess to be 1 or 2 more fights and unless he looks spectacular in those, just come back to kickboxing, try to get a few more paydays and hang them up. At this point I don't see Saki having a serious chance at any belt anymore, but then the HW and LHW divisions aren't really deep so with a few adjustments to his style he could potentially still be a top 10 fighter.
