Just watched the kelvin- Israel fight. Other than the punch that dropped israel in the first and the high kick that rocked him in the fourth, kelvin didn't have anything for him. Although i have to say israel still needs more pop in his hands... in kickboxing he had a lot more pop in his hands. I think he is too afraid to punch with mma gloves like he did with kickboxing gloves because of the risk of breaking his hands, which he had lots of problems in his past fights by breaking/injuring them multiple times. Anyway, if he doesn't start to put more pop in them, he is going to get caught sooner rather than later.

I think is also because he adopts a more karate-like stance in his MMA bouts. is easier for him stopping the takedowns, but also takes away his power. He is favorite against Whittaker, but a smart Romero-Weidman should be able to beat Israel.

Personally I think that weidman is too slow to get the takedown and he can't mix it up with striking to get him down. Romero probably beats him because, compared to weidman, he is more explosive/agile, better wrestler and can mix the boxing with the takedown in order to get israel down. At MW I think only mousasi and romero beats him. But also a prime jacare and TRT vitor would have probably beat israel as well.
