Because if you have a random rant thread, you should also post the things that makes you happy. Amirite? For one I feel very good, things at work are crazy. It's really busy and complicated but I still feel in control, my company appreciates the hard work I do, and I feel very at home, with fantastic people, not only nice, but also very knowledgeable. I still learn every day and hope to stay there for a while (last year I got a new contract ). Also I started to work out more and lost 12 KG since January... so I'm on the right track there also. So things could be worse. Cheers

Cheers for this thread and your accomplishments.
I myself lost about 10 KG over the past year or so through healthier eating and (much more) regular exercise and feel so much better because of it!
It's a big load off literally and figuratively.

It always helps to have a motivator at your side.

absolutely. ive been burning about 650-700 calories a night while there. setting that incline high really pushes up how much you are burning when doing the treadmill.
what do you normally work on Jof when you're at the gym? im sticking to cardio until i cant melt anymore fat off me.

Yeah doing that as well although I consider doing some weights at a certain point. It's said that with more muscle you also burn more calories which sounds logical for now I'm just sticking with what works for me and that's going to the gym three times a week, doing cardio. I start with the elliptical workout, for one hour. Usually that burns around 930-950 calories (if I can trust the machine ). After that I go running for half an hour, well more like jogging. I'm following a 10 weeks program in which start from zero, and after thise ten weeks you're able to run 5K within half an hour. that means you need to run 10K/hour and that's not realistic for me yet. Not even because a lack of stamina, but the running is heavy on the knees so I want to build up steadily and controlled. So I did the program @ 7,5 K/hour and now I'm doing the same one @ 8,5 K/hour. I'm considering one more step @ 9,3K/Hour before I do it one final time @ 10K/hour. If I can maintain my streak (37 times in a row this year! Don't break the chain ) I will keep losing the weight making it easier to run with more speed. If ot all plams out I will have still 10 or 12 weeks left to do a 10K @ 10K/houd as well. Have done a 10K @ 7,5k/hour so I would be stoked if I could do it again ar a higher speed. but step for step man. We got time. It's a long and slow process. Unfortunately. And eat healthy and diversely. But don't starve yourself either. Crash diets don't work, especially not in the long run. Just begin with cutting out the real fat stuff. And if you're used to eat a lot (Like I can and could) begin with cutting your portions in half. Or decide to keep a limit and weigh your food, but stay under the usual portions. for instance I allow myself a max of 200 grams of meat every day (meat, chicken, steaks, etc). Try to eat at least 250 grams of veggies and 200-250 grams of pasta or potatoes. Eat fruits regular. Only drink water at work. But drink soda (pepsi max) at home, just one or two glasses a night. keep going out ans drink beer, you still need to have fun. Well so much for my tips for now. It may sound cliché, and I know losing weight can be tough, but the toughest thing is to keep it off. Walked in that trap many times and it's hard to avoid. You need to change your lifestyle and you need to do keep it for the rest of your life.

pepsi max is my friend. lol. i completely cut all sugars actually. at least the ones i know are not neccesary. sugared soda is a no no. i sweeten my coffee and teas with monk fruit. that alone saves so many calories from going into me. still working on completely changing the diet but i have changed what im buying at the store. have been eating mostly chicken and fish. veggies have always been there because i love veggies. but i steam them now with just a lil salt. pasta is still there too but i changed to whole wheat pasta. but yes. the bitch part is definitely keeping it off. i had lost quite a bit 2 yrs ago and messed it all up when i met a girl. im glad the girl ive got now has the same goals. we cant mess each other up. if one of us feels lazy the other says no were going. lol.

That's nice man. Currently my regimen looks like this, swimming (laps) on wednesdays, jogging/running on sundays and Muay Thai on either Tuesday or Friday, depending on things like my work schedule for example. I have no idea how much calories I burn with each training session, but I lose up to 1 KG (mostly fluids) after I finish one.
Also, lately I've taken up the habit of walking to work instead of taking the car (I don't live too far from work). It was mostly a practical reason at first as finding a parking spot where I currently work is an absolute horror, though over time I came to fully comprehend what lazy pigs cars make us and now I try to not drive unless I have to for the simple reason of getting some fresh air and exercise.
I went from an all time high of ~79 KG to ~69 KG in a bit over a year, though I think I can still lose 1-2 KG's of fat alone and still have a bit of fat to spare.
About my diet, I usually don't eat much during the day and have huge home cooked meals in the evening. I try to avoid fast food on weekdays and try not to snack around too much on stuff like chocolats/chips/candy whatever. I drink mostly water and tea (I rarely get cravings for sodas nowadays), though I do drink at least one cup of coffee a day at work to 'wake up'.
During the weekends I'm a lot less strict with the 'rules' and get something I absolutely crave at that moment like some Chinese or KFC for example. If I have happen to have a craving for sodas during the weekend I have no bad feelings giving into it. I like Sprite, Vanilla Coke, Ice Tea and Root Beer. I also have the -unhealthy- habit of drinking energy drinks (RedBull, Monster etc.) to make my days last longer and get the most out of my weekends. So yeah, my weekends aren't always exactly healthy, but I kinda even it out by my jogging on sundays.
Other noteworthy things are I really cut back on alcohol over the past two years which I feel makes a very big difference. I don't smoke cigarettes anymore and never 'took up' smoking weed, but I do enjoy going to a shisha (or 'hookah') bar every few weeks.
So all in all I think think I'm currently living a fairly balanced lifestyle; most of the 'unhealthy' stuff is really regulated and limited to the weekends, which I feel keeps me balanced. Like Jofel says you still need to have fun.

I'm down 3.17 Kilos in two weeks. (that's 7 pounds for Americans)
Been doing DDP Fitness, implementing a specific style of Yoga that applies principles of dynamic resistance to everything and a three-tier nutritional plan.
It's been great.
The best part is zero-impact and the rehabilitation element has fixed a lot of neck problems I have.
