I'm hoping they're still cancelling it.
Aside from the medical risks, what's the point if most of the scheduled fighters from overseas can't even make it to the event?

I've found myself self censoring on a couple bad takes in the last few days. Probably better not to try and meme on twitter about disasters too much. I'm hoping they're still cancelling it. Aside from the medical risks But for real though, imagine if someone ended up dying of corona and it's traced back to "they attended the K-1 event". I'd imagine that could be a promotion ending, Fukushima public apologies type of thing. Yeah, it really worth risking it all on this event?

Oh yeah absolutely, I wasn't implying that the medical risks aren't the most important thing to consider here.
But, even without the current circumstances, a supposedly huge event that just lost over a third of its participants due to 'circumstances' kinda loses its appeal from a hype perspective, doesn't it?

Japan publishes this thing called "Covid-19 cluster map". The Japanese approach is drastically different from South Koreas's (which is everyone's media darling, for good reasons) in that it's more of a search and destroy as opposed to the carpet bombing approach that has been recommended and pushed by the WHO.
I won't discuss that stuff here, but in any event, if this event is ever to be flagged as a cluster later, so close to Tokyo no less, well, imagine what that would be like.
Even smaller pro-wretling events have been cancelled left and right. This shows how desperate they are at K-1.

Unless somehow a miracle occurs tomorrow this is happening, so I updated the card (OP).
While it's obviously a terrible choice not to postpone this event indefinitely, I'll be tuning in and hope somehow nobody involved gets sick.

Yup, exactly.
Made me think about, has there been a worse idea in kickboxing history than going through with K'Festa.3 and not postponing it? There's been some bad ideas, but does this just top everything else?
Really, really hope it doesn't turn out bad for them. With the absence of a lot of other sports, could end up getting more attention with the right KO even.

Unless there is some historical record of events going down in the middle of warzones, I'm not really sure we have anything comparable to it.

I feel like the exact wording matters here. If they ordered them to, then don't they just have the powers to stop the event from happening?
Or is is more "you shouldn't hold the event"? Which, if they had the power to stop the event, would be some political fucking nonsense of not really wanting to take responsibility of cancelling the event BUT in-case things actually went badly then being able to point to "see, we told them not to hold the event".
