Had to look him up; Bert van der Rijt. Apparently he is now gone too. I just wonder if ALL their fighters received the same letter. If their survival depends on being more streamlined, the first thing you'd expect are roster cuts. I don't know if I'd make too much of the word "streamlined" quite yet. If they know they'll be out of action for a while might be no point paying rent for offices. Also for sake of argument let's say they ditched the US completely, might need a bit more space in Netherlands or wherever anyway and get new offices. Some of the guys who maybe people thought more as "employees" also seemed to have been basically contractors so who knows what their status might really be if/when they resume again. Might mostly the same guys doing same things again. With fighters too, I wonder how many they actually have under contract, all the "lesser" fighters under same kind of Glory contracts as the main names or is it more fight by fight type of thing for them? Just a lot of guessing at this point, gotta wait and see what they announce. Assuming they will announce anything and not just die off

We'll announce something soon. Then nothing ever again, Superkombat style.

Interesting stuff about SK. It's been quiet around them for a while.
After Creed II came out a bit over a year ago and had SK branded gear in the movie there was maybe one more, small and kinda last minute SK event and after that it was mostly radio silence aside from Irimia posting some random Hollywood BS here and there.
DFS is kind of its spiritual successor with Irimia's former 'protegé' Alin Huiu running the show. While I like some of the stuff they do and they have a similar feel to SK, it's definitely a weaker promotion overall.
There's also been some drama; at one point Irimia posted on social media that another promotion tried to claim the SK brand name for their events. While I have no proof for this, I suspect DFS.
Back on topic; it'd be cool to have SuperKombat return.

-Rico and Badr hinting in social media they are fighting soon. -A British company seem to have bought GSI -This company was created in May 2020 and the CEO is Scott Rudman.
I think that's the last non-official updates.

For two guys in their 50s Nunn vs. Miletich wasn't half bad. Especially Nun at 57 still has very fast hands.
Kinda surprised this didn't get some more exposure in this drought of events.

Due to lack of updates concerning Glory's situation I decided to look around the internet for a bit. So I started on MixFight where I browsed their Glory thread and found a post with a link to this article that contained an interesting tweet: It also linked to another article that mentioned all Glory fighters received the following letter on the 16th (last Thursday): Who or what IS GSUKCO? GSUKCO LIMITED is a company with one active member named Erica Rhima and is 100% owned by NECTAR NOMINEES LIMITED NECTAR NOMINEES LIMITED is owned by Scott Rudmann I'm no business expert, but all of this reeks of an arbitrary construction of shell companies to somehow get through legal loopholes. In other words: people/businesses owed money are fucked while some snakes can resume business as usual. This does make it seem, however, like it's not the end of Glory just yet. They're just slow with the updates, because there's a lot of shuffling going on behind the scenes. I guess we have to wait for just a bit longer. And it may be over two weeks old at this point, but it's interesting to hear Gabriel Varga's take on the situation based on his own experiences with Glory: That's not the end of my post though, because during my search I stumbled on some things that I just had to share: At some point I also visited Sherdog forums, where I haven't been in quite a while. I clicked on the Glory not paying its bills? thread and one of the first things I saw was this: Good to see things haven't changed at all Someone also linked to BASBOON DOT COM: "Glory Kickboxing the path to become a Billion $ franchise. The Netherlands has become the new Japan of fight sports!"Posted by: Bas Boon in Uncategorized December 24, 2019If you're ready for delusion in its purest form, just browse through it for a bit (at your own risk). BTW some of this was already covered in lero's post from a few days ago. Just went a bit deeper into the rabbit hole, I guess

Guessed/hoped from the start that it was basically just Andurand and Rudmann taking over. Old Glory had a bunch of other investors who've come along throughout their run, if they're not willing or able to put in any more money...maybe this was just the most efficient way for them to reset? Interesting to see if they actually end up fucking over people/businesses in the Netherlands for example and how that might affect things going forward.
Wish they got their ducks in a row quickly and came out and told us what the state of things is and how they'll go on. Been a bit long in this state of who knows what's happening. Legal nonsense in the way just taking some time or poor communication?
