This sucks. Mannaart told his corner "My tooth is out".
Looks like maybe he broke his jaw as well.

Andre Mannaart confirms Roël's jaw is broken.
They're on their way to getting him checked at the hospital. He was bleeding from the mouth quite badly.
Hope he recovers well.

Next bout: Harut Grigorian vs. Jamie Bates.
2019 was not a good year for Harut Grigorian. His only fight last year was against Cedric Doumbe and that resulted in a (T)KO-loss for him. The super experienced, yet only 30 years old Armenian, who fights out of Belgium in the same team as Marat Grigorian (not related), the current lightweight champion of Glory, will look to begin 2020 with a win against Englishman Jamie Bates. Bates however, has different plans and a decent 3-1 Glory record promises an exciting fight.

Bates has come a long way from his SuperKombat days.
He also made his pro boxing debut last year which he won by decision.
Grigorian on the other hand could use a good comeback win.

Bates gets knocked down on a break moment and is basically knocked out, but gets time to recover.

Huge props to Bates for recovering from that and actually fighting himself back into that round.
For all intents and purposes, Bates was knocked out.

Bates goes down pretty hard in the second round, but the punch was right after the ref said "break", so there was no count and only a little time to recover. I actually think the ref did that pretty well.

Tyjani Beztati vs. Michael Palandre is the next one.
The super young Beztati, at only 22 years, has already fought the best that the Glory lightweight division has to offer, namely Sitthichai and Marat Grigorian. So there is no shame in losing to them. Coming off a decision loss against Grigorian in a title affair, Beztati now takes on Michael Palandre from France, who comes off a loss to Bruno Gazani, but is 3-1 overall in his Glory career.

Definitely my 'story of the night' thus far.
Bates going down hard during a break and coming back to win the fight against the favorite Harut was great.
I like Harut, but you gotta love Bates showing so much character and earning himself an upset decision victory.

Oh yes, that put him on the map for me for sure.

BTW I'm having a hard time getting a read on the audience numbers.
Them keeping it pretty dark and me receiving a Glory email last night promoting 'last chance for tickets' tells me at the very least they didn't sell out.
Atmosphere seems decent enough, though.
