Great event! Did you watch it, K1Power/Shadess? If not, you missed a lot of action. Caliniuc and Bozan outclassed Ostrovanu and Railean. Junior monster Sofian captured the bantamweight belt. Veteran Maxim upset Silvio Ionescu. Lapusneanu is also fun.

The event, I recommend mainly Caliniuc vs. Ostrovanu, then Bozan vs. Railean, and third Sofian vs. Panaite.

Mostly skipped through the event.
From what I saw of Bozan/Railean it seemed kinda meh.
Caliniuc/Ostrovanu was pretty good. I really liked Caliniuc's use of middle and high kicks to cover the distance to the much taller Ostrovanu. I miss that from a lot of (shorter) fighters. You can extend your reach so much if you focus on your kicks for a bit. It's kickboxing for fuck's sake.
Sofian/Panaite was fun to watch. Nice boxing and level changes from Sofian, some good looking knees from Panaite. Noticed Panaite is with Respect Gym. Are any big name fighters still training there?
BTW I hated that you could only hear the commentator during fights. I need audience and ring noise. Especially at those more quiet events I love to hear the impact of strikes, gives you more a better idea of the power of shots.
Commentator seemed to know his stuff at least, he was referencing SuperLeague and that promotion was active over 15 years ago.

Commentator was Alexandru Ganci, a kind of Romanian Elie Seckbach but I dislike his English commentaries. Ganci is a patriot and the moderator of a show about conspiracies on Antena 3, the largest political television in Romania (though pro-socialists from PSD). I think that Ganci would be more useful as an interviewer, than as a commentator or even a ring announcer. Even if you hold information, it does not mean that you are charismatic in everything. Ganci looks like Kru Alin Hălmăgean, the Romanian Canadian cutman in the UFC and ex K-1.
Respect Gym is not real anymore, Alin Panaite might have returned to Bucharest and says he is "single". His kid Adin still lives in the small Transylvanian-town of Petroșani. He trains at some gym from a nearby commune, and they call it now "Respect Gym". Panaite Sr might have gone there for a lady, or not sure, he disappointed many maybe with the Respect World Series project. He is also a "dacopath", and they are growing, from Panaite and Gheorghe, to even Andrei Stoica and Cozmâncă. )) Sofian injured his leg in the 1st round and still won the fight. This was the debut of Adin from the previous event. He simply started to enter the ring around the age of 25, so far he hasn't taken it seriously. Considering that, I would say he is pretty decent or solid. Handrea is the pupil of Daniel Ghita, Ghita says that Handrea won 106 fights as an amateur. But if his father returns, he will not necessarily be again the best coach. There are now more new coaches, and now there are a lot of coaches all over the country. Caliniuc and Gafencu are coached for example by boxing coaches, Bozan switched to Ruben Stoia, Gafencu's former coach... I have no idea, for instance, who trains Sofian! Because he's phenomenal for his only 18 years. The problem of kicks is less important, the former USSR came from behind because they used their boxing school. This is exactly what Romania lacks to produce champions at the highest level, not just challengers. Because in total Romania offers dozens of quality athletes, and almost all of them have "toughness". But compared to Doumbe, for instance, Petrisor, Gafencu and others are really kickboxers. Even Caliniuc uses kicks. It will be hard for someone to stop them because I see more and more quality and desire.
I can't say it's fight in kickboxing, to practice it, but before the gyms were not full.

I think Darius Argyo is trained by Alin Panaite. He was on the card and fought experienced Cardos, really young. The Panaites are doing a great job there by integrating even some Roma, at a really village gym.

From what I saw of Bozan/Railean it seemed kinda meh. Why? Because Bozan was too good?

Saw it, just didn't enjoy it. Caliniuc/Ostrovanu and Sofian/Panaite were much more energetic and high paced.
