Lambagiu when he goes down again at 77 you will see how good he is. Because there he will kill flies again punching their bodies. The tactic was not to expose his head to the Greek's kicks and knees. Tonight he was after the opponent's face.
I can't wait for Rambo to wreck guys on the international scene, but I just hope he gets something like a 3 year contract.
Sure, you all loved Gafencu, he has the technique but Lambagiu owns insane power, aggression and very strong chin (not to mention he's also improving his boxing skills). Gafencu made the mistake to change the coach but indeed even then I considered Rambo very good. Overall even before he had a proven chin.
To summarise:
- Stoica international as we already knew - Lambagiu proven - Ostrovanu proving himself, he is close to become proven (must improve his technique, to come close to Paraschiv, Caliniuc, maybe even Bozan and Co; there are also others like Orza who will become great lightweights - not sure about Petrisor) - Latescu starting out, he just made his pro debut last year

You say Iancu doesn't have Latescu's talent, but Latescu lost to a very out-of-shape Iancu.
Talent doesn't mean anything if you don't beat the guys you're supposed to beat.
And Poturak really only went down due to fatigue. He took some of Latescu's hardest shots and just shrugged them off.
As for Lambagiu I just don't think he's very good. He is in good physical shape and puts power in his punches, which is enough to beat the low level opponents he's matched up with. As soon as he fights someone halfway decent he's in trouble.
Again, Stoica is the only fighter on that card who I can see achieving international success. He needs to be in bigger fights and perform more consistently though.
All that said, the event definitely had some entertainment value.

To understand who's Lambagiu, please watch his fights with Kyshenko, Stefanovski, Drăgan, Bădoi and Boiciuc. Boiciuc is proving now in the Colosseum he's not trash, but in DFS he was dismantled by Rambo. Also, Bădoi was down, counted multiple times. Please watch Mirel Drăgan in the Colosseum, what a technical outboxing welterweight! He holds a record of 26-1 or so, only losing to Lambagiu in Romania. Former multiple times world and Euro champion in kenpo.
Additionally, Rambo fights against two respectable heavyweight boxers (Ion Grigore who had cleaned out KO Masters like Drăgan, and Radnev). Basically people don't know what means openweight.

Lambagiu got the snot beaten out of him by Kyshenko in China in a 'fight' that was only ruled a draw because of that event's weird setup. The other guys he beat don't really have any name value other than being local heroes. Stefanovski showed a bit of promise a few years ago, but his career doesn't really seem to be going anywhere.

All that said, the event definitely had some entertainment value. Yeah, an event under Colosseum Tournament 26 but definitely to be watched. Totally expected, I even announced here with weeks before. Latescu was at his first pro matches and I said then that it is a dangerous match for him. Match 2 actually. Otherwise he didn't do bad, but was counted. Iancu was not out of shape when he won Latescu, it was his last chance in DFS. He had lost the first three fights. Since then he is 6-1 (with that won tournament), although the match with Munteanu was clearly won after 3 rounds. For Rambo I've responded you in the previous post, not to mention even Vardakas is a better fighter than you think. He beat Beni Osmanovski (good Swiss kickboxer), fought Maslobojev, Oleinik, Sprangh and Verbeek - all solid opponents. Spranch now is in Glory, Verbeek in ONE, Oleinik is this guy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Oleinik_(kickboxer). Trust me Rambo is way better than you think! Maybe you haven't watched too much Romanian kickboxing until this competition between promotions, after the fall of Superkombat. But he is in the top 5 most proven kickboxers right now.

Iancu was not out of shape when he won Latescu LOL Trust me Rambo is way better than you think! He really isn't, though. But you're welcome to believe what you like.

The other guys he beat don't really have any name value other than being local heroes. Stefanovski showed a bit of promise a few years ago, but his career doesn't really seem to be going anywhere. Facts of double measure, not from you ofc: - Verbeek barely Vardakos and is in ONE; Lambagiu mauled the Greek - Sprangh lost to Nastase and is in Glory; Nastase is not half the fighter Lambagiu is (though he's in increasing, though he's also U25, though you enjoy him more than Rambo; the Romanians don't even like Nastase, Rambo here now is the most popular fighter of the new generation, with great power, aggression and chin) For me Miles Simson was not Glory material, Lambagiu is fucking Glory material since 2-3 years ago. Why do you think I like him much? Watch again the Kyshenko fight! Maybe you only watched highlights. Schiopu KOed Jamies Bates in his England, and Schiopu was quite good but wouldn't have done absolutely anything in Glory. Now Lambagiu is like 1 class over or 1 class and a half. And Schiopu was a solid fighter, who gave a war to El Bouni. Stefanovski was Glory material as well, but thanks to Hemmers he's losing himself. He was also injured and hasn't fought because of the pandemic. Otherwise at the start of the pandemic he was just 23 years old. And like I've said, the resume of Rambo must be entirely analysed. Because most of his fights on the record are worth. Adegbuyi says the same about Rambo. Imo he wasn't even matched with bums, imagine Dragan, Badoi and Boiciuc looked as bums for Rambo. To understand how good Lambagiu is.

Iancu won an 8-man heavyweight tournament in that shape, starting with Latescu! Was he better tonight?

Iancu won an 8-man heavyweight tournament in that shape, starting with Latescu! Shouldn't that tell you enough about the level of that tournament? And again with these longwinded arguments. I just don't think Lambagiu is very good. He has an unattractive fighting style and doesn't really have any meaningful victories. He's beaten some 'okay' guys at best. Nothing you can say will change my opinion, which is something you'll just have to accept.

Rico Verhoeven lost to Said Eljajaui in his beginning. Eljajaui had an anonymous career. I have never said anything about Latescu than being "very talented", he's also a bit short for a heavyweight and doesn't possess great KO power. But Rico is an example. Rico has absolutely no real KO power, I am sure Latescu can do better. And KOs will come, if he knows where to hit, I am also sure he will add more power not just knocking Adegbuyi out once in dozens of bouts...
I don't consider Latescu proven by anything, but for a 19 year old he's very promising. Tell me better heavyweights at his age right now in the world! Or a new heavyweight with potential. Balli is nothing and signed for Glory. Bchiri is 30 years old, all the people think he's 20.
Now let's compare Latescu to Bchiri. Bchiri barely beat Ristea. Latescu I can tell you exactly he's a more talented than Ristea was. Ristea was promising, but proved no toughness for many fights after. And still has no big toughness.
Latescu is technical and very smart. If he works hard, I predict him a good future. But it's not up to me. What I dislike about him, it's his height. He could easily fight at 95. Tonight he was 96 kgs only, Poturak weighted 107.

Nothing you can say will change my opinion, which is something you'll just have to accept. I've never praised that tournament, otherwise Munteanu and Mincu at Colosseum were much better and they have decreased massively (even Munteanu lately). They are respectable heavyweights, just that Mincu is never a heavyweight. And Ivanoaie and Lutaniuc also had some potential and were young. There is a lack of heavyweights in the whole world, and those young heavyweights were well matched including with some veterans (including Ion Grigore). It was not a failure of a tournament. If Latescu or Munteanu couldn't win it for instance, that's an argument it wasn't trash. Anyway, like I said even then, Latescu should have not fought there in his 2nd match on pros. Ok. Not just I am praising him big, but also Adegbuyi, Ciobanu and Cozmanca. If you don't trust Morosanu and Mihai Constantin. Plus I watched him live in the gym, and many have sparred with him. We'll see if the technique won't pull him down, but Rambo is hardened in the woods. Not at the gym. All his life he worked in the forest and I think in construction. Before sambo. What I dislike at DFS, is that I see athletes underperforming in this pandemic. And in the Colosseum it's not the same.

This is your logic: Maurice Greene > Fedor because: Maurice Greene > Júnior Albini > Timothy Johnson > Matt Mitrione > Fedor It really doesn't work that way. I don't consider Latescu proven by anything, but for a 19 year old he's very promising. Tell me better heavyweights at his age right now in the world! Or a new heavyweight with potential. Donegi Abena defeated Andrei Stoica, Stephane Susperregui and Michael Duut when he was 19-20. And I don't even think Abena's very good. Just naming an example. You could argue that he's a LHW, but it's close enough as Latescu is small for a HW. And I saw Rico fight live back in 2008 when he was still 18-19 years old and just discovered by Simon Rutz. While he was definitely still very wooden at that time he showed more promise than Latescu does now.

While he was definitely still very wooden at that time he showed more promise than Latescu does now. I have watched Rico since he was 17 years old. I watched him in It's Showtime as well on his debut. He wasn't really way more impressive than Latescu. Just becoming in time very effective. You can't say Latescu doesn't have talent, I see some weaknesses but it's only up to him. With hard work and dedication. He's 19. Not Abena, current names. Abena was indeed a rare case. Bogdan Stoica was Superkombat champion at 21, but again he's a special case. There are some exceptions, maybe in history with ultratalents in the past not really. But today most of the fighters are better at 30. Abena even now is less faster maybe than Latescu. For instance Latescu has better speed, Abena was one of my favourites who still fails to prove dominance (with better speed and determination, preparation, he would probably). But still being very young to be honest. I wouldn't exclude Latescu even if he wouldn't be undefeated on boxing rules in Romania.

I never said Rico was way more impressive, I said he showed more promise than Latescu does now.
Also never said Latescu has no talent, just said he isn't as impressive as you make him out to be. I don't ever see him becoming champion in a major promotion, just local ones.
I'm not aware of any ~20 year old HW champion material right now, but that doesn't mean that Latescu is it. He just happens to be in the spotlight in Romania at the moment.
Pretty sure you can find random 19 year old heavyweights all over the world that could beat him. Even in this weaker era. It's just that some of them have yet to emerge on the scene and make a splash. Latescu is decent, nothing more nothing less.
