Interesting fight. On paper it should be over as soon as Kyotaro connects, but it's been a while since Kyotaro fought elite kickboxers and this ain't boxing. Karimian connects a big kick or knee against an overconfident Kyotaro it could be over as well.

It's interesting that both this and Ishii/Aitaka are HW superfights.

While we're at it; Ishii kickboxing? From what I've seen of him he's never been comfortable standing under MMA rules, but apparently he's moved to Croatia and trained with CroCop a lot. He's even fighting under the Croatian flag. So who knows? He might surprise.

What I gather from this is that K-1 is giving HW a shot and is testing the waters with some 'spectacle' matchups. Not sure why there's been no mention of Roel Mannaart yet, since he hasn't defended his belt in almost 2 years. He should have recovered from his fight with Maslobojev by now. Maybe Glory has him on retainer for an upcoming event? I wonder.

Either way I hope this is successful and K-1 tries to get some bigger international names.

Timing for those weekday events is usually horrible for me as they start at the same time I have to get up for work, but I happen to have the day off next week.

I have some chores scheduled on Monday, but hopefully I'll be able to plan around so I can watch this.

Roel Mannaart talks about potentially meeting Kyotaro in the future, wanting to fight again but not being ready yet.

It did mention his jaw has healed up, though.

Hard to say. He defended his K-1 title while he was fighting in Glory and I don't think he's a big enough name (yet) to go exclusive for any promotion.

If Glory keeps guys like Troy Jones and Matt Baker around I don't see why they wouldn't want Mannaart.
