Ah, that sucks. Now that you mention it I don't recall a weigh-in for that fight.
Any specific reason mentioned? Hope it's nothing serious.

Comments + I liked the event overall, even if it ended in the lamest way possible. + Abena/Maslobojev - The fight was good while it lasted. While I didn't really agree with the open scoring favoring Abena, it was more competitive than I expected and really can't take anything away from Abena. + While I didn't love Wisse/Almeida, I liked that Almeida was able to hurt Wisse with the calf kicks and that in turn Wisse was able to be effective after switching stances. + Özcaglayan/Braun - Fun and competitive clash of styles until Serkan first wobbled and then finished Braun. Also the first and much welcomed KO of the night. Pretty sure Serkan gets the title shot against Wisse next. + There was a fun interview (by the same woman from the bad backstage interviews lol) with Khachab and Said after the fight against Jürjendal and naturally they were both in good spirits. What stood out to me though, was how polite Khachab was. + Billet/Akipa had some great exchanges that I feel Billet got the best out of. That said, Akipa landed a great counter in the first that wobbled Billet for a second and won Akipa the round. Billet was the best overall though and righfully got the nod. + Positively surprised by Khachab - He is a lot more athletic and has a way bigger gastank than a guy his size should have. At 22, if he manages to shed some of that weight he could go places. + Chikh Mousa/Peposhi - Awesome fight. Very competitive. Peposhi kept losing his mouth piece as the fight progressed which was a minor annoyance, but aside from that I have no complaints. + Ciric/van Belzen - A good, high paced back and forth clash. For a minute it looked like Ciric might lose his second Glory fight, but he was able to tag van Belzen a few times as the fight progressed, making him lose some steam. + Wunn/Mayezo; the fight. A fun clash of styles where Wunn pushed forward against a late replacement in Mayezo who didn't come to lose. + Fun, competitive opening fight between Hambaryan and Caliniuc. An almost a classical kicker/knee-thrower vs. puncher matchup. While I feel Hambaryan was saved by the bell in the third, he scored more consistently throughout the majority of the fight to give Caliniuc his first professional loss. Caliniuc is still young though and will be back stronger.
- While I liked the event despite its lame ending, it felt a bit long at only 9 fights because it was missing finishes. - I hate how Abena/Maslobojev ended. Stopping a fight on a cut shin, especially in round 4, is stupid. - Wisse/Almeida - Not a bad fight by any stretch, but it felt decidedly slower than most fights before it and somewhat killed the momentum after Özcaglayan/Braun. - Actual proof strike stats are completely broken: Wisse was scoring and the stats were realtime updated in favor of Almeida. You could see it during the first round. - Once again some annoying awkward backstage interviews by Videoland's female reporter. Stop pestering fighters who are getting ready to enter the ring. It's not her fault though, as I fully suspect Videoland pushing for crap like that. - A bit disappointed by Jürjendal. He had absolutely no answer for Khachab with his 135kg pushing forward. - Wunn/Mayezo; the decision. While it was a close fight and I get Wunn pressuring more may have scored with the judges, I feel Mayezo simply scored a lot more and showed more versatile kickboxing. If this fight wasn't held in Germany, Mayezo probably would have gotten the nod. Not a terrible robbery by any stretch, but it still left a bit of a bad aftertaste in my mouth. At the very least I hope Mayezo will be invited back for agreeing to the late replacement. - Due to the Lutterbach/Camara fight falling through, the starting time of the event was pushed back 30 minutes, but it wasn't clearly communicated through all channels. And this isn't the first time it happened in Glory. I know it's a small detail in the grand scheme of things, but it's one of many details adding up to push Glory into amateur territory, despite being one of the biggest kickboxing promotions.
Some additional notes According to Wiki Mayezo has another fight lined up on the 28th. Busy guy.
I still think it's weird how a guy like Abena can lose four in a row, then win one and get a title shot and is now the champion. I get that the division is stretched thin, but still.
Finally an all-round successfull Glory night for SB gym.
This event missed major starpower so I wonder how it did in terms of viewership.
Abena did a post-fight interview with Videoland where he mentioned he has other goals in other sports as well. Not sure he did himself any favors with Glory there.
Cool moment:
Edit: Özcaglayan invited Tyrone Woodley to Glory lol.

Yeah, Maslobojev was definitely screwed over here and should get an instant rematch.

You can't necessarily blame Glory for a BS decision of a ringside doctor (even though they should have briefed all involved medical staff beforehand on what typically does/doesn't end fights), but it did happen under Glory's watch so it's good to see them invested in rectifying it.
This situation actually benefits Glory as they now have a rubber match that will draw more eyes due to the controversy surrounding the stoppage.
