I think he underestimates how many investors there still are to scam. Chatri can sniff them out by scent.

Basically he uses contrived stats to inflate their viewership and used this to justify forecasting ONE will become the UFC of Asia and compete with the UFC. Year after year he says profitability is just around the corner but it has yet to happen after like 13 years. Fingers crossed it keeps working. |

Or they know what you are saying is right, and they blatantly throw their money away?

Its not a matter of finding it out or not, Investing is a gamble where the investee is trying to sell themselves by any means necessary. Their investors are gambling perhaps knowing the extent of the grift/exaggeration, perhaps not. Personally I think their gamble is not likely to pay off, just like all the big brain money people who could have invested but chose not to. Im a huge fan of ONE by the way, I only care about their problems because I want them to succeed. |

I am rooting for the investors to keep going with ONE but they put some conditions in order to make them skim some grease out so they don't keep wasting that much money As a fan, I would be happy if they make separate events for striking and MMA so I don't have to bother watching their MMA fights |

I'm not a fan of ONE at all. They don't care about their Kickboxing division which makes it hard for me to care about them. I have watched some of their more Kickboxing-heavy cards though and actually quite liked them. I also tend to tune in whenever a good fight is scheduled, like the upcoming Rodtang vs. Takeru. So I certainly don't judge anyone for liking ONE (or any other promotion for that matter). As for the business side of things, anyone who believes Chatri is doing nothing wrong is being optimistic at best and a shill at worst. Where there's smoke there's fire and there's been smoke surrounding ONE's shitty business practices and questionable viewership numbers for years. Like Fox pointed out investing is essentially gambling and I'm pretty sure that if there was more awareness regarding the above mentioned smoke, less investors would be taking that chance with ONE. While I don't root for people/promotions going out of business, any business' bullshit should catch up with them. If that results in ONE closing up shop when this inevitably happens so be it. The fighters would find new homes where they actually get to fight on a regular basis. |
