Presumably Videoland produced this one:
They're so much better at promotion than Glory.

Really sucks as I was looking forward to this one. Not sure if Abena is really sick or if something else is going on and I get that it sucks for Khbabez, but it feels like he is always threatening to leave the promotion when things are not going his way.

Khbabez now fights Mohamed Amine who replaces Abena for the LHW interim title. That's actually a really good replacement. I mean, there's no way Amine should be even close to a title fight, but then so shouldn't Khbabez. Otherwise solid matchup.

I get it. Definitely a fine fight to make, in this situation. Slightly fucks over Maslobojev though as essentially he's not getting an opportunity to regain his title for a bit longer.

Kinda most looking forward to seeing Micheletti vs El Bouni on this tbh. Such a good matchup.

While I don't like his Badr-esque shtick of pandering to the Moroccan fans, I watched some recent interviews with him and he's actually a smart and well-spoken guy with solid analytical skills.
In an interview with Videoland yesterday, Khbabez said that he feels Amine stabbed him in the back. He said they are friends that call each other regularly. When the news hit that Abena was out, Amine called him to ask how he was doing.
According to Khbabez, five minutes after that call Amine contacted Glory to ask if he could take Abena's place. Khbabez apparently found out from other people that he was fighting him. Amine on the other hand claims he actually offered Khbabez directly to 'help him out' and feels this way he helps Khbabez and saves the card. Not sure if the story is real or fake, but these accusations and Khbabez walking away from the presser add a surprising bit of drama and anticipation. I don't think they'll be going easy on each other.
I thought the presser was pretty decent, but I'm a little surprised the event still isn't sold out. Both Plazibat and Rudmann mentioned that they are close, but that there are still some tickets left. I hope this event delivers so that there has to be less reliance on Rico, Badr and to some extent Jamal.

Quick thoughts + Overall this was a very solid and entertaining card. + Good to see the emotion from Osaro in the post-fight interview. + Osaro knocking out Plazibat after beating the tar out of him for almost the full duration of the fight. + Edward Strijkert taking Plazibat's punch like a boss when he jumped in at the end of Round 2. Hope he is okay. + Cool to see part of the Croatian National Football team in the audience. + Khbabez' emotional Dutch-Engrish post-fight interview was the best thing I ever heard. + Khbabez vs. Amine - Amine started strong while it looked like Khbabez was visibly having trouble fighting his friend. From the second round onward Tarik was able to flip the switch and really started coming after Amine who's tank was running empty quickly. Khbabez really started beating the snot out of Amine as the fight progressed. It was good to see Khbabez being able to finish it. In the post-fight interview Khbabez said he feels proud for winning the belt, because Mo made him fight harder for it than he expected. + Wisse beating the snot out of Özcaglayan for the full 5 rounds in a way I did not see coming. Gotta give it up to Serkan for not going down once. It's funny; Almeida put Wisse in trouble with the calf kicks, now Wisse used that to hurt Serkan. Wisse said in the post-fight interview that the fight was easy for him. Said he doesn't mean any disrespect to Serkan, but that he only has a left hand. + Semeleer vs. Overmeer - A fun, fast-paced, highly technical and competitive bout. + Micheletti vs. El Bouni - The fight. + Luckily the venue filled up after the prelims. I was a bit worried by the large empty sections by the time the third prelim was going on. + Khachab vs. Toktasynov was a fun brawl, even if it was a mostly one sided affair. + Camara vs. Gafencu was a fun clash of styles. I was waiting for Camara to finally start using his knees against a very pushy Gafencu. The second Camara threw that jumping knee it was pretty much over for Gafencu. + Decent opening fight by Kedves and Pelcis. A bit awkward and clinchy at times, but the pace was high and there was a lot of spinning stuff from both fighters.
- While I liked the card, the middle part left a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. While I enjoyed the fights, I didn't like the one sided scoring in some of the fights and the way Boapeah/Bokeme ended. - Plazibat looked terrible. He had maybe two or three good moments in all of the fight. You could tell from his body language right from the beginning that this could be a bad night for him. Apparently he broke his arm early on in the fight. It sucks for Plazibat to see his dream of fighting Rico going up in smoke, at least for the time being. - Glory really needs standing 8 counts. Both Özcaglayan and Amine took way more punishment than they should have. - Semeleer vs. Overmeer - The scoring. I thought Semeleer probably did enough to take it, but I thought the first round should have been a 10-10 one which only a single juror gave. I also expected the jury to be more divided on the rounds that followed. Overmeer said in a post-fight interview he thought he won and somewhat expected a split decision. He was very graceful though, he smiled and said he still loved it and gave the crowd a good show. The broadcast team was divided as well; Remy and Lely thought Semeleer clearly won, Manhoef and Rico thought Overmeer clearly won. - The crowd mass booing Rico whenever he spoke. Not sure if it was the Badr or Plazibat army, but it was another sad display. - Micheletti vs. El Bouni - The scoring. I thought the fight was close and don't have a problem with El Bouni getting the nod, but every judge had it 20-18 after two rounds and there is no way El Bouni won the second round. - Bit of a messy situation in the Boapeah/Bokeme fight. Apparently Bokeme's bridge in his teeth was damaged, knocking them loose. Bokeme wanted them taken out so he wouldn't choke on them. The ref interpreted Bokeme turning his back and walking to his corner as him giving up and stopped the fight.
Additional notes * Osaro said in the post-fight interview (by Videoland) that he knew Plazibat only had energy for one round and that he'd win as long as he survived early on. * I liked Rico and Manhoef in the studio. Perhaps not as much as I like Manhoef together with Remy in there, but it was still good. * LOL @mike Passenier wearing a suit & tie T-shirt when commentating with Valtellini and Grisham. * While it was annoying to hear Croatian fans booing Rico and Osaro, we need to keep in mind that the majority of these guys were there for the UEFA Nations League final between Croatia and Spain happening tomorrow. * Lol @khbabez finishing his combination with 3-4 strikes to go when the bell at the end of round 3 rang. * Bonjasky and Rico throwing some jabs at each other lol. Perhaps non-Dutch speaking fans aren't aware, but Remy and Rico aren't the biggest fans of each other. * Badr looked more motivated walking to the ring now than when he was fighting lol. * Manhoef said he's fighting very soon. * Saki and Badr in the crowd. Was half expecting Glory to announce Saki's return here when I saw him. * Videoland fully leaning into the drama between Donegi/Khbabez/Amine * They had a bit of a different setup for the Videoland broadcast this time: Mark Schaaf was in the studio with Manhoef and Rico, while Bonjasky was only doing commentary with Alex Lely this time. * I still had some issues with the stream cutting out twice, but hey it's an improvement over G86 lol.
