I don't remember anymore, but I think this ruined some deal they were doing.

Think some Japanese porn stars have big followings in China, but it just wasn't appropriate to associate with anything porn related in public, at least then.

-It would be beautiful if Glory can snatch Kryklia, Zhaja, Opacic, and Eersel from ONE. -Then K-1 snatchs Menshikov, Petchtanong, Qiu Jianliang, Zhang Peimian, Di Bella and Akimoto also from ONE. Re: Kryklia (and Allazov) Glory has a history of ignoring Belarus based fighters entirely, very much a blind spot for them. Wonder if it's just that they didn't want to sign fighters who had absolutely 0 reason to go train at Hemmer's gym ...or Mike's, Colosseum or any other Dutch place. Gridin Gym/Chinook ftw. Gridin produces just beasts... Is crazy. Hope Putin stops this stupid war already... (or better if he dies soon)

If porn and tax evasion is mainstream in 2023, this is a no-brainer: K-1 will be huge (again). PS: hoping for only the best scenario - grew up reading ANYTHING I could get my hands on about K-1, went to Tokyo and were ringside when Mark Hunt won and have met Aerts, Leko, Ignashov, Graham, Kruth, Lindwall, Zimmerman, Krauss, Masato etc. I also did the Danish Eurosport commentary through all the best K-1 years. Fingers crossed for this!

I've known about K-1 since the mid 90s when a friend had the game on PlayStation. I started kickboxing myself as a teen around the year 2000.
Really became a K-1 fan around 2002-2003 during the Bob Sapp era when fight forums started popping up on the internet left and right. Tape delayed K-1 broadcasts on EuroSport were among my most anticipated events for years. I believe the program was called 'Fight Club' and to this day Fred Royers is my favorite fight commentator. Far superior to popular picks like Michael Schiavello, even though I think he's pretty good as well.
I've been to all the Amsterdam K-1 GPs between 2006-2008 and even the K-1 Global WGP in Zagreb in 2013 and will to this day maintain I've had a great experience there with a couple of friends, despite all the controversy surrounding K-1 Global and that specific event.
But yeah, it goes without saying that I'm invested in this.

Yeah I've heard only good things about Royers. When you have a kickboxing background your self it carries over in your commentary I think. And yup it was called Fight Club and was aired on Monday nights.
