K-1 had a presser. Kazuyoshi Ishii back at K-1. Haven't entirely read up on it, but apparently he still basically owns the K-1 rights and supposedly some other FEG era people have been back too since the "expansion". 70 kg final 16 matches in March and then 8 man with the winners in July. More RISE vs K-1 Matches coming. They also talked about Chatri/ONE lol

Not sure what having Ishii back more officially does to K-1. Might bring life to old gripes for not having paid a whole lot of people.

There can probably be both good and bad takeaways from this, depending on who you ask. In the eyes of the Japanese and (some) old school fans this may add some legitimacy/acknowledgement that this is "indeed" K-1.
I'm still mainly worried about international broadcasting.

Tarik Khbabez was a guest in Remy & Marinho's latest podcast and shared some interesting stories and tidbits: - His father passed away on the day he fought Roman Kryklia for the second time. Tarik was ignoring messages on his phone and stepped into the fight with a bad premonition. He ended up losing the fight. He later heard his father was found with Tarik's fight with Kryklia still playing on his phone. - After losing a fight in Russia (probably the one against Kirill Kornilov in 2016) Tarik was hospitalized with a broken jaw. He said the conditions in the hospital were terrible: he landed in a room with another patient that had just passed away and nobody removed the body. When the doctor examined him he wasn't wearing any gloves and it caused a severe infection. Tarik developed a very high fever, fell into a coma for several days and woke up in a Dutch hospital. Luckily he fully recovered. - He went from ONE to Glory, simply because they offered him a better deal and he prefers fighting closer to home. He said despite the negative headlines surrounding Kickboxers in ONE, his own experience was very positive and he still keeps in touch with Chatri. When Glory made him an offer, ONE actually made him a counter offer. After some back and forth Glory gave him the best deal and ONE agreed with letting Tarik go, because they got Marat Grigorian in return. - Feels ONE made him popular in Asia, whereas Glory made him popular on a more global scale. - Says he has a short fuse and can't get too friendly with potential opponents. - Still feels like he defeated Maslobojev, Remy challenged him a bit on that lol. - Currently weighs 110kg, but feels he's gotten the hang of cutting weight. He says he'll lose the last 5kgs in the sauna the day before the weigh-in and will quickly regain it, because Glory has no hydration requirements. I think that covers the majority of it. Pretty good chat, everyone was relaxed.

K-1 Executives Scoff at ONE Championship – "They Are Not People That Are Capable of Conducting Proper Business. After I Talked with People from Other Organizations, They Also Got Similar Responses"beyondkick.com/news/k-1-executives-scoff-at-one-championship/Similar to Shadess' excerpt, but Kikuta is going in here: While I don't think it's a good look to indulge in mudslinging, I do appreciate people calling ONE out on their BS.

Although I like ONE, this is just outrageous. Chatri talks about respect all the time: "Martial arts are about respect!". Where's the respect for business colleagues?!
Quite disappointed, to be honest!

It's unfortunate and unnecessary.
Despite my reservations about ONE/Chatri, I thought this could have been a cool cooperation and a step in the right direction. At this point though, it feels more like scorched earth instead of 'just' burned bridges.

ONE is the highest tier BS to me, but yea K-1/Carlos probably shouldn't be talking a whole lot while bringing out Ishii lol.
Carlos has a history of forging receipts and claiming them back as business expenses. Ishii has a history of tax evasion and fraud. K-1/FEG left a whole bunch of people unpaid.
You could also pose the question of why their absolute biggest star Takeru left them for ONE if they are so much worse...

Chatri and ONE have been known for being BS artists for at least five or six years at this point. Anybody who believed them to be about the love of martial arts was and is a complete and utter fool.
