Yeah, Glunder's career really went nowhere. I imagine that whole situation with his father probably didn't help.
Anyway, happening this Saturday.

This is on Triller, but I can't see it doing well at 20 bucks and with Euro 2024 games overlapping with it. Wonder if it's getting televised anywhere.

Not sure if on tv, but mojawebtv.bhtelecom.ba has it. Have to have some active subscription of that provider tho. Not seeing this on dodgy streaming sites either. Think I might just watch Kunlun and KOK today then.

Istrate left the ring after the extra round was announced. Just gave up.

While this is just a local qualifier, the tournament has actually been pretty fun and competitive thus far.
Not sure what Istrate was thinking, but he showed some diva behaviour in last year's tournament as well. Buakaw pulled the same stunt against Kehl in 2014 and LeBanner did the same against Kyotaro in 2009.

While this is just a local qualifier, the tournament has actually been pretty fun and competitive thus far. I missed the 1st tournament fight and everything before that, Bartek fight was ok for the tournament. Overall this event hasn't managed to keep my attention very well, quite bored. Schiavello doing commentary remotely from Japan(?) with Sina who is barely contributing anything isn't helping either. Somehow just feels like this event never got going.

Can't say the way K-1 is going about this is making me enthusiastic for an event I don't think is going to sell well regardless.. I am happy for Miloš Cvjetićanin however. He has been a fun watch in Senshi since last year.

Quick thoughts
Overall, I thought this card was okay. It was actually not too far off from some of the local qualifier GPs we saw in Europe during the early to mid 2000s. It was definitely a step up from the Romania event and pretty much in line with Kikuta's explanation of "Fighting Network" events being essentially bottom tier with qualifier GPs being a step above them and Japan shows being at the top. Also, Miloš Cvjetićanin was a nice surprise, don't think I've seen him fight before.
All of that said, there were definitely some headscratcher moments for me throughout: - The whole Istrate controversy. I didn't think the draw was a bad decision at all, but Istrate was clearly gassed and looking for a way out. Any fighter that openly trashes a promotion like that probably shouldn't fight for them again. What I have the bigger issue with though is Schiavello - as a K-1 representative - giving it much more attention than it warranted. Just address that stuff behind closed doors and make a public statement about the repercussions afterward. On a sidenote: contrary to what Schiavello said, this has happened at least twice before in K-1 (Buakaw and LeBanner). I think Schiavello was even commentating the specific LeBanner fight.
- The LONG break between Semi-Finals and the camera team filming the staff scrambling backstage. Obviously there were issues with multiple fighters being injured and they tried what they could to make any version of a second semi-final happen. They should have just announced a 10 minute intermission and get it figured out. Coming up with solutions on-the-fly with injuries during a tournament should be K-1's bread and butter. Don't show high level staffers being confused for 10 minutes straight lol.
- Thought Tošić getting the nod over Bartek was clear hometown favoritism. I could have accepted an extra round, but nothing more.
- Karimian's co-commentary didn't really add much. He just didn't sound very enthusiastic.
- Asking 20 bucks for this is daylight robbery. This should have been a free stream on YouTube or a 5 bucks PPV at most.
- The card should have had tighter pacing. Events ending after midnight (local time) isn't ideal.
- The ground level of the venue had a pretty decent crowd, but the upper level looked completely empty. They've been able to mask it for the most part, but a smaller venue probably would have been the smart choice here.
Here's hoping the next qualifier (Italy?) will be a step above this one, but first K-1 Max next weekend.

Oh, you need to see Miloš Cvjetićanin, for sure. He's been fun on Senshi since last year. He can be hurt, as shown in the Azzouzi and Pellegrino fights, but he also scored vicious head kick knockouts against them too. Azzouzi has lost to Bartek this year also.

Was hoping they'd manage to turn "an actual K-1" event into a higher attendance, but no such luck.

Honestly, I think any European (sports) event scheduled during the Euro 2024 will struggle to some extent, especially if there is overlap with high profile matches. Hardcore fight fans may show up, but when it comes to the more casual audience it's hard to compete with a major football tournament.
This event could have increased its draw by having some star power / local hero on it. I think Adnan Redzović (Santa guy) was that fighter for them, but he got injured during preparation and it looked like he officially retired from fighting during last night's event.
For what it's worth, the crowd in attendance seemed into it despite some of the shenanigans and it did look and feel more like I'd expect from a K-1 branded event.
