That sucks. Hope Hadar is okay. Feels like he can't catch a break.

Prelims kick off in a little under 5 hours.
Perhaps it gets pushed back slightly, because Hadar/Sousa isn't happening.

Didn't expect to say that Glory needs to give Nico Pereira Horta another fight. That fight did not make Levi look too good.

My thoughts:
The Good + Overall a great event and probably the most entertaining Glory event I've seen in a while. + The mood in the studio was great; there were lots of laughs and jabs between Remy and Melvin. + Wisse/Bokeme. Competitive fight and a strong ending to a strong event. Bokeme possibly gave Wisse the toughest fight he's had as a champion. + Lots of surprises this event, in a good way. + Big Sexy. WTF. Nobody expected anything from this last minute replacement who came out of nowhere and he gave Rigters a ton of trouble. Yes it was slow and he ran out of gas quickly, but apparently he hasn't fought in two years and fought the division's #2 on a week's notice. I hope Horta is invited back and gets a chance to train properly for a fight. If he loses some weight and gains some speed he could have some legit nice fights. Remy and Sander Schrik kept calling Horta "Big Sexy" during commentary and they too were baffled by how competitive he was. He instantly became a crowd favorite and was very charming in his post-fight interview. Said he wants to fight on at least two weeks notice next time lol. + The crowd getting shut up by Braun and Boapeah. + Boapeah/Özcaglayan - While Boapeah was clearly the more complete and dominant fighter throughout, Serkan kept being a threat. Serkan's mistake, once again, was forgetting his legs. + Very cool to see a lot of the fighters in the crowd being highlighted. + Braun upsetting Touchassie was the moment of the night for me. Braun with the performance of a lifetime here. Big props to Touchassie getting up and finishing the fight with a broken jaw (confirmed in the Videoland studio), even if it was very irresponsible from his corner. + Hristov/Overmeer - I thought this one could go either way, but didn't expect Hristov coming close to finishing Overmeer in the first round. Props to Overmeer for surviving and sort of coming back into the fight. + Wosik/Kaffa was a great fight with a great ending. + Peposhi/Chikh Mousa 2 was great. Both fighters fought smarter compared to their first meeting, but Peposhi seems to have grown a bit more. + Kromah/Bouzid - The fight. + Landman/Sno started off shaky, but got better as it progressed.
The Bad - Boapeah/Özcaglayan would have made a better co-main event. - Crowd showing their sportsmanship to Braun and Boapeah lol. - Unfortunately, another backfist didn't land cleanly. In this case Wosik's. - Judges must have been smoking something strong to give Kaffa the first round. - Kromah/Bouzid - The way it ended. - Shame Glory/Timmers keeps matching up House of Glory fighters against each other at this stage of their careers.
Additional Notes * Wonder if this event sold out or at least came close. * Someone at the venue randomly screamed during R1 of Wisse/Bokeme and the crowd laughed hiserically lol. * Mike Polanen to Horta inbetween rounds: "You're still going to that party tomorrow or not!?" lol. * Rigters said in a post-fight interview he expected to do much better and perhaps he underestimated Horta a bit. Says this performance was not good enough to challenge Rico yet and that he hopes to make more fights and wants to stay active. * Engrish was strongly represented in Glory the past couple of days lol. * They did LHW grand prix staredowns while fights were being previewed in the studio. Pretty good way to add additional hype to the event. * Referee Mezine who made some questionable decisions during G91 was back. He did mostly okay tonight, though. * On that same note, did Tim Hughes introduce Kaffa as a German national? lol * Glory listed Chikh Mousa as being from UAE. Isn't he Kurdish/Syrian? Not a fan of promotions messing up names/flags. * Ron Kruck back for the English commentary.
To delve a bit deeper into the backfist discussion: Jay Overmeer said in an interview this week he thinks Glory should either exclude spinning backfists or introduce a VAR system, because they connect with the underarm/elbow too often. Case in point Hristov/Groenhart (elbow), Kwasi/Semeleer (underarm), Wosik/Kaffa (underarm). There was a discussion about this in the studio as well between Remy/Melvin/Schaaf and they did agree that it's been a problem recently. To add my own two cents. I'm not sure backfists should be straight up prohibited (yet), but a VAR system with potential point deductions would be a good start.

Agreed on most everything as usual hahah Very nice event. Glory seemed to have a couple new sponsors too, good for them. About the spinning backfists, just adopt the best kickboxing ruleset: Kunlun Fight rules As long as it's not the elbow connecting it's fine. I wouldn't want a VAR system at least, we already have enough waiting around and interruptions during fights. If someone gets knocked down and can't continue fighting, DQ/NC same as with anything else. If they aren't too affected and can continue fighting, perhaps a point deduction should come a bit easier than it currently would.

Simply legitimizing certain hits is a proposal I never even thought of. I'd probably be okay with that.
I wouldn't mind a VAR for suspected illegal hits if they cause heavy damage/knockdowns/knockouts, but both parties get only 1 per fight and is decided on by the ref so it doesn't get abused nor messes with the pace of the fight too much. Something like that. Obviously my spitball idea probably needs more thought put into it.
