I hope all eight of them get a thumbnail weightlifting.

Khbabez vs Abena and Rajabzadeh vs Maslobojev are the obvious predictions for the semis but after that I can't dare predict anything

And even those quarter-finals have some room for surprises. It's that solid of a line-up.

Stoica is a bit out of his league in this tournament, imo.

While Stoica and Touré are the obvious underdogs in the tournament, I still think both are decent additions.
I've seen the Faraoni fight, but Bogdan got injured there and I'm not sure it's a good representation of what he can do. His fight against Tavares is a much better example as far as I'm concerned.
It's just tough luck that he's fighting Maslobojev in the first round, who - from what I'm seeing - is the most popular pick to take the whole thing.
Edit: Also just wanted to mention that I really respect the Stoica brothers for being among the first big name Romanian fighters to really test themselves outside of the comfort zone of local promotions and favorable matchups.

In a new interview Abena talks about falling out of love with Kickboxing, because he feels he got screwed over in the Khbabez fight. He also mentions being disappointed with the money for the tournament. Apparently the winner gets 100K in addition to the show money. That's why Glory hasn't been advertising prize money for this one lol. Abena says he'll stay in Kickboxing for the time being, but wants to cross over to Boxing eventually. He's gotten a lot more well-spoken over the past year or so.

Glory got all the main names in there and the couple last in Stoica and Touré are fine enough to round out the tournament. It really is a pretty great line-up for an 8-man.
I'd never say the Stoica's aren't real fighters or anything like that, but to me they do kinda seem somewhat content at just getting paid. Neither brother has seemed like the most ambitious go getter in the sport even if they have had fights outside Romania. But perhaps it's just a bit of bad circumstances, they've had good careers in Romania and the "step-up" fights in Glory weren't successful. But really I'm being very nit-picky here, it's like they're just missing the last 1-2% but have the 98 before it.
For me Maslobojev and Bahram are the best guys in the division, in a single fight they are quite tough to beat. Still as much as I'd like to pick Maslo as a favourite I can't.
Now that Bahram doesn't have to fight giants all night...maybe he'll go all the way this time?

Yeah I think the Stoica's 'problem' is that they just fall a bit short to be at the very top, based on the times they really got tested. That said they usually have fun fights, win or lose.
I'd pick Maslobojev over Bahram, not just because he's beaten him before, but because he fights smarter as well. Bahram is very explosive, has a versatile moveset and is entertaining to watch, but he throws a lot of wild shots that leave him wide open and I'm still a bit surprised none of the heavyweights he fought were able to exploit it. I think the light heavyweights will do a better job at it, but we'll see what happens in the tournament.

I doubt Bahram wins this. I think it's either Latescu or Maslobojev.
I can't hate on, nor do I really care if somebody decides to stay in their lane (talking about the Stoica's). It probably isn't great for fans, but it's likely good for them to make their living and do the thing they love.
I wondered what the prize money was going to be. I did think it'd be around 100 K, so I'm not too surprised. I wonder how much the World Grand Prix is going to pay, considering this line up is superior to what will inevitably be the line up for K-1.. no wonder people want to go to MMA or boxing, jc.
