While I'm glad half the tournament consists of decent guys - even though it's obvious they couldn't get Giorgio and settled for Armen - I'm disappointed Kehl is nowhere to be found, or even Yodsaenklai. There seems to be absolutely zero input from K-1 Global here.

Nice lineup btw, much better than what I expected initially but also lacking any real standout name like I suspected. Wonder what's with Giorgio though, he's supposedly negotiating and negotiating and nothing seems to come out of it LoL While I'm glad half the tournament consists of decent guys - even though it's obvious they couldn't get Giorgio and settled for Armen - I'm disappointed Kehl is nowhere to be found, or even Yodsaenklai. There seems to be absolutely zero input from K-1 Global here. Yeah. And there's no news from K-1 Global either but puzzling enough they started putting videos and pictures of the 55kg tourney on their Chinese site. A real enigma they have become.

Yeah, after a great start - ratings wise - in China and two decent (though not fantastic or high level) shows they went absolutely silent because China apparently wanted China VS Japan II - Revenge to happen rather than the scheduled China VS Thailand. It's been almost three months and absolutely nothing.
At the same time we saw Kru Alin corner Gabriel Varga at Glory, which was just really weird.

Weird stuff going on all round. Whilst I was watching the 55kg GP the other night, the thought occurred to me that Global and Ned have been a bit quiet lately. Their hasn't been any sort of strategic synergy between "The Dueling K's" at all, would you agree? It's as if their was some sort of loophole in the deal when FEG sold up that would allow for some kind of entity in Japan to use the K-1 trademark.
Who else spotted the guy from GFC (Badr's straight man at "that" video/press conference) sitting with Saki at GLORY in Dubai?
On the subject of the 70kg line up, Yod not being there throws up questions (and I was really hoping he'd F'n be there), Giorgio not being there is no surprise, Dylan Salvador is a nice addition, Armen? If it was up to me, I'd pass and put Adamchuk in there, although I thought he was a featherweight.
And I hope we don't get to see Sato-Dahlbeck, again.

There has been talk of a potential buyout from Hunan, which is probably what is slowing things down. There was a lot of movement because K-1 played hardball saying they could go to any other network with their ratings, etc. As for Alin and Gabriel, Alin is kind of his coach and manager. Kind of.

I like that the guy who beat Sato replaces him in the tournament now.

Nice, very nice. Theyr matchmaking so far has been pretty consistent. And -70 kg is always a great thing. Too bad that they seem to not be able or willing to call it "MAX"... because -70 kg is MAX, damnit!"
