This is why their weird, point-based rankings are the worst.

This is why their weird, point-based rankings are the worst. Sure, but i'm pretty certain they're not respecting even those rules. It looks to me like they rearranged their rankings as they seen fit to further their agenda. Proof is pretty easy to come by. How is Pat Barry ranked top 10 when he has zero wins in Glory? Where did Lewis Parry get the points from to get ranked at 8? The guys he fought against weren't even ranked at the time of the fights, one of them (the asian) is still not ranked. As you know, in Glory rules, you get a portion of the points your adversary has, if you win against him. But they were unranked, so where did he get the points from? It's simple, Glory gave him points as they saw fit to get him in top10. Exactly the same situation with Vigney. I don't want to come across as hating on US fighters, i have nothing against them. But i do hate it when i see fighters with severe lack of experience and skill make it into top10. It just so happens that they are US fighters, because Glory is pushing them so hard. Maybe they are forced by Spike but that's not really important. For God's sake, Vigney is above Anderson Silva and Ben Edwards...

So these are the updated Glory HW Rankings
(C) Rico Verhoeven
01. Daniel Ghita 02. Benjamin Adegbuyi 03. Sergey Kharitonov 04. Errol Zimmerman 05. Xavier Vigney 06. Anderson Silva 07. Ben Edwards 08. Chi Lewis Parry 09. Mladen Brestovac 10. Pat Barry
These rankings have nothing to do with even Glory's own weird ass point system. These rankings are a tool used to shoehorn American fighters into high profile fights (with the hope of them actually pulling off a win) while avoiding inconvenient matchups.

Even some of the non-Americans on there are head-scratchers.
I respect Brestovac for what he's accomplished, but I don't exactly think of him as a top ten talent in the Heavyweight division. Kharitonov is still kind of unproven in kickboxing. The win over Braddock was nice, but the loss to Braddock showed that if he can't land a big shot he's pretty lost.

I am still baffled, few days later, that Vigney is a top5 heavyweight and that Pat Barry is a top10 heavyweight. I feel like i should hit something ... Not to mention Lewis Parry, he wouldn't even make it in a top20 SuperKombat, his technique looks straight out of a bar fight

If getting knocked out by Mwekassa is enough to get ranked then I think I should be in the discussion for greatest of all time because he'd kill me

Do Ghita and Edwards even count? Do they have any sort of contract with Glory atm? The situation in SK's HW division looks more exciting than this.

In the LHW div, Brian Colette is shown ranked higher than Mwekassa, Meekassa starched Colette in 2 rds not long ago at a Glory event. What does Glory have against the standard ranking system because this point system sucks!

Funny thing is they don't even use their own rankings for matchmaking.
Every time there is a contender tournament they don't pick top ranked guys, but rather whoever suits their political agenda.
