Robersen knocked down JLB HARD in the second round. JLB received what felt similar to the count Abidi received against him back in 2005 - it was that long. There was another knockdown a bit earlier, but JLB was not counted for it.
JLB knocked down Roberson in the 3rd or 4th with a body kick, but I'm not sure if that one was counted either.
Apart from the knockdowns I felt JLB was able to bully Roberson enough to get the decision, but I might have to rewatch as my stream was pretty choppy during the fight.
One thing that really showed - even more so than in earlier recent outings - is how much JLB is in need for retirement.
I'm glad he was able to retire with a win after the amazing, long career he has had as a fighter. One of the original legends of K-1, Jerome LeBanner.

Unfortunately I missed it as I had to switch streams, but I'm a bit surprised Ilunga lost his fight. I know he is not necessarily the most consistent or developed fighter, but he usually takes care of anybody below top level.
As for Verlinden, he just didn't look too hot just like in his fight against Bouzidi. Maybe switching between weightclasses a lot has affected his performance. Too bad as I'm usually a fan of his style.
Overall the event was not as good as it looked on paper, but it was able to deliver JLB a decent farewell in front of his homecrowd.

im happy he won. WAR JLB! one of my favorites. honestly he just looked like a killer when I first got into K-1 so id try and watch all of his fights. and man did he have some memorable KO's and some memorable KO losses. still always remember the KO when he knocked out Pettis after the ref stopped the fight already. lol. there are several others id like to mention but im at work. anyways farewell JLB! we will have memories and I will always have your autographed K-1 trading card!

Well I do think Le Banner pretty much won all the rounds, but he was given a very long count ( 20 seconds ) and one down was not counted. So scores should have been 4 x 10-9 and one 10-6 depending on their rules making it a draw. But it could have been called a knockout, Jay Nady would have waved it off for sure. With one down not counted you have 4 x 10 - 9 and one 8 - 10 resulting in a unanimous decision.
Of course this was his retirement fight and pretty much everybody would like to give him the opportunity to fight his way back after this knockdown. So I wasn't too upset by the long count, I was about the ref antics after the count before he restarted the fight. These however didn't matter as the guy who rings the bell apparently forgot to ring the bell. The round was already over before the ref ordered the press to go backwards.
In the end this was a very game opponent, strong, good power, pretty fast hands and good movement along with a good distance feeling.
Over the years we have always seen Jerome has issues fighters who move a lot, move fast and wait for the counter. This was another guy like that.
A bit unlucky he didn't get the win by KO for him, but he's very young and did a very good job..
As for Le Banner, he can't do anything about this situation, but he did give a good effort and fought his way back after that heavy KO. When you fight a guy that young, because of the differences in speed and reflexes ( 42 vs 24 ), the risk of running into a fast punch is always there. It's called risky matchmaking. If you want to play it safe, he should fight an older guy as well.
