Well it is something that should have Kind of rooting for K-1 on this. K-1 Global is still K-1 and they should own all their footage.

I don't disagree at all, just that they were pretty much dead for a year and didn't care to inform anyone about any - if at all - upcoming plans. All we got were some rumors from Dave. I want updates on any future plans, their relationship with K-1 Japan etc. Not just them resurrecting for the topic of content ownership.

I kinda want to see them go all-in on K-1 Japan, but to add Heavyweight back into the mix or something. Then again, they have most of the best at their weight classes right now and if they couldn't get the top heavyweights it would be pretty worthless.

I feel like K-1 Japan has found its niche, and it's a fucking excellent one at that. I could see the odd single heavyweight fight on their cards, but introducing a whole division and all it entails would probably spoil the broth and/or kill the company.

Well, Uehara is fighting a heavyweight bout in their upcoming show in two weeks and it kinda looks like they're making a pretty big deal out of it. I think they're definitely interested in adding more weightclasses, but simply lack funds to go after big names.
I agree with Dave though that I'd like to see K-1 Global putting all their money - both literally and figuratively - on K-1 Japan so that they can introduce heavier weightclasses to increase their global appeal and relevance.
They can go about it in a relatively cheap way as well: Get some up and comers both from Japan and overseas and throw in a handful of affordable names like a Londt, Gerges etc.

What's funny to me is that K-1 Global initially wanted to keep their distance from K-1 Japan, but K-1 Japan has better name fighters, better fighters period and more awareness than any of the K-1 Global shows ever had.
No, K-1 won't be what it used to be, but put your all into this really amazing product that you do have in Japan right now.

Oh so the Yi Long, Kehl, Jauncey and the one Chinese dude who's name is escaping me now is a tournament I guess. Assuming it'll then be 2nd group of their 16man tournament that starts next month with Souwer in it.

Buakaw, Petrosyan, Kyshenko, Marcus, Souwer, Kraus, Amrani, Kulebin mentioned for later events too. Then on the more wtf hypehype!!!111 -front they had pics of Yod, Kaew, Schilling, RvR, Levin and Ristie at the end too Levin said a while ago he won't be fighting in China at least before 2017 so take at least those last names with some healthy skepticism. The WLF Glory of Heroes events will be in April, May, July, August, October and finals in Jan 2017.
