A bottle rocket with a 20 meter fuse. All hype, no bang.

The sad thing is that the kickboxing portion of the card is getting equivalent coverage to Glory 31 and more than Kunlun, K-1, etc by virtue of being attached to a lackluster Bellator card. I mean, 2/3 of the fights on the Bellator kickboxing portion features fighters making their debut in kickfighting.

That's some more karma right there. When did he decide it's a good strategy to fight with his hands behind his ass?
He must realize he's not actually Ray Sefo as he can't take a shot to save his life. Also, he looked badly out of shape the way he was huffing and puffing that early in to the fight already. So much for his starpower in Bellator.

Schilling might want to consider retiring at this point. lol

On another note, this aired in Japan? Japanese commentary makes everything better!

Bellator and John McCarthy were so in on making sure Mitrione got his arm raised that it was almost funny in it's transparency.

Rampage is getting embarrassing. How much longer can he string out doing virtually nothing but still getting the decision based on his star power alone.

Will Schilling start putting the badmouth on Coker or Bellator now? After all, that's another promotion that he has just washed out of.

Say what you want about Daniels or the opponents he sometimes gets fed, but I find him very entertaining to watch.

Bellator MMA Dynamite and Bellator Kickboxing 2 See Bump In Numbers

After slightly disappointing numbers for the debut Bellator Kickboxing event, Bellator Kickboxing 2 with a strong Bellator Dynamite lead-in pulled in solid numbers. While Bellator itself did 601,000 viewers, Bellator Kickboxing 2 did 418,000. The Kimbo Slice special aired earlier in the evening did 416,000.

I'm not sure I agree with Dave's read here. Will Viacom be looking at this as an improvement over Glory (albeit the later stage, hamstrung by timeslotting Glory) or as a dip in Bellator's numbers during the KB portion? Not really an expert on the MMA business, but it seems like the Bellator numbers themselves (600K) was considered underperforming as well.

It'd be pretty interesting to get to know how Viacom (actually) views Bellator in general. I don't know about the kickboxing stuff but mma sites and everyone else never seem to mention or maybe fully understand that the Bellator product airs on a bunch of Viacom channels internationally. If they can be even remotely financially okay within the US then for all the other countries it's basically free fairly good looking programming that's way less hassle than Glory or anything else they could have.

Another Bellator thing I thought a while ago is they're dropping the ball on not trying to go to China with Bellator before the UFC does. They'd have all the relationships needed in place already, the kickboxing product on the side there to ease viewers in and it'd be much easier to drop in Chinese fighters against Bellator level talent than in the UFC. Sorta surprised they aren't trying to break into Chinese TV.

Coker tends to run businesses lean and with a skeleton crew, you can't run a Chinese TV product with 5 guys in San Jose. Their problem with kickboxing is compounded by the fact that they're trying to do what they did with Strikeforce while having 0 fighters that the audience knows or cares about. Even their "stars" like Daniels and Schilling are frankly fringe within the fringe of actual current kickboxing fans. None of which is helped by the awful matchmaking.
