Reserve fight is
Ootaki Yuta (former Krush 58kg title challenger) vs Asahisa Hirotaka
Also, a FYI since I've seen some confusion. 57.5kg is not replacing 55kg. Its a new weightclass they made and Takeru has returned the 55kg title. Also, all divisions are going to be named going forward as opposed to being marked by kilos
55kg Super Bantamweight 57.5kg Featherweight 60kg Super Featherweight ...
K-1 probably hoping to get some of their Krush 53/55kg guys back into the fray since they've been getting butchered by Takeru.

Cheers.
It's a good thing they're finally naming their weightclasses. I wonder what they'll call 70kgs since it used to be "MAX/Middleweight Artistic Xtreme".

Cheers. It's a good thing they're finally naming their weightclasses. I wonder what they'll call 70kgs since it used to be "MAX/Middleweight Artistic Xtreme". They're probably calling it Middle weight or Super Welterweight or something. They have been very coy/modest about using the 'M word'. If I remember right, the tagline for their 70kg tournament was 'Beyond the limit, surpass your MAX' or something to that extent that alluded to it. My head tells me its some naming rights issue with Global. My heart hopes that they're waiting till they get a TV deal and some real money to hire talent with before they add 'MAX' on the title like its an unlocked expansion pack.

Follow up superfight announcements
- Kido Yasuhiro vs Sanny Dahlbeck - Kubo Yuta vs. Makihira Keita (former Krush 67Kg champ) - Soda Yasuomi vs. Fawad Seddiqi
FYI, Kubo is going up in weight class to 67.5kg.
Event after this is February 25th, 2016 for the super LW (i.e. 62.5kg) tournament. K-1 Japan needs to conduct more events if they wanna make this more weight class thing work. Its good that it sets its schedule a year in advance, but unless they up the number of events from ~5/year to ~10/year or something, they can't feature a world tournament for each weight class and manage a Japan tournament/Champions event.
Incidentally, I really wish they were doing a Champions event again this year. The 2015 one was awesome.

OP updated.
I LOVE that we have complete cards for these events MONTHS in advance and they don't undergo huge changes. Compare it to SK who just don't seem capable to announce a full card 1-2 weeks before the event happens.
I also couldn't agree more about the necessity of holding more events and the Championship event last year being great. It was my favorite event of 2015 and watching it live (via Thai TV stream I believe) just added to it.

Event is sold out a month in advance. K-1 Japan has sold out every one of their events I think (not that its a big venue, 4.8K people with seats expanded), but this should be the fastest it sold out (with the possible exception of the 65kg world tournament that got the Takeru vs. Ozawa hype).

Oh man I totally forgot it was happening this early.
Here's hoping I won't sleep through it, but I'll create a Live Event Discussion Thread now just in case.

So yeah, obviously I completely slept through the whole thing. lol
I just hope the footage finds the internet fast, unlike K-1 Japan's previous event which still isn't available in full.

Fighting Arts Youtube channel has put the main card up in seperate fight form (so it's spoiler central for the tournament bracket) within the last hour in good quality, Power. Better move fast or they will be down soon.

Keepvid.com here I come!
Cheers!
BTW there will probably be results in here soon so people who don't like spoilers might want to stay away from this thread from this post onward. I'm going to adjust the thread title now so people have a heads up.
