Just finished the K-1 event. This card should be down to the last 2 fights or so, which unfortunately look like one sided beatdowns, especially the Zimmerman fight.
Anyone feel free to post the results right after as I've already tagged the thread with a results tag.

Zimmerman (who won) has some work to do but said this was the first step so maybe he's taking it seriously and we'll still see a serious run from him, who knows. Did some quick googling and he weighed in 5kg heavier than in his last Glory fight against Vanneste, where he was 5kg heavier than he was against Verhoeven. Was defo noticeably packing some extra weight.

He already looked close to actually being obese 10 fights ago, I'm not ever seeing him taking this seriously.
Having said that, good for him that he won and it's a warm gesture from him dedicating the fight to Marc de Bonte.

BTW this morning I read a Facebook post by Daniel Ghita which seemed to imply he wants to have a farewell fight against Zimmerman and if possible fight in Romania.
I mean sure, Ghita hasn't fought in a while, but picking an opponent who's clearly in a slump who Ghita already destroyed twice already isn't exactly going out with a bang.

Oh my, he still is super butt hurt about his losses to Rico, so precious . Ghita's been such a huge disappointment for me. I now know why he always failed in important matches against the top: his mentality is trash! It's always the judges, the referee, the crazy girlfriend, a prior injury, opponent fought dirty etc. Not saying some of these weren't legit, but constantly pushing such an agenda means he never had to push himself to get better, at least psychologically.

Why against Zimmarman, it makes no sense. He has beaten him twice, by KO. Also Zimmarman is pretty out of it as for late. Why not another Rico fight, I would love to see that romanian nut job guy from sherdog having another existential crysis and make the most ridiculous excuses. He never seems to give up, I would give him that.
A fight between Ghita and Benny would be interesting too. Maybe against Hari or Londt too.

A fight between Ghita and Benny would be interesting too. Maybe against Hari or Londt too. There's just one problem though, Ghita hasn't been fighting and only been sporadically training in 2 years and a half now. I would enjoy seeing him back in the game for a few more years (3...5), but he would stand no chance against any of those fighters at this point in time. And even if he gets back in shape, he will already be 36+ when that happens, a bit too old to be a threat. But i do believe that he could still entertain us with some quality fights, just not against the top.
