They'll do 3 shows in the smaller Saitama Super Arena configuration and then one in early 2018 in the big one. K-1, Krush and Khaos merging. They're basically doing just what they should. Being at capacity show after show in a small venue doesn't make much sense.

This is good! Is there still some weird agreement with K-1 Global that restricts them to japan or something? Id like to see one singular K-1 Brand but this is good news and the K-1 Japan shows are some of the best kickboxing out there right now.

This is actually quite big. And it also gets you thinking. In those two years what K-1 Japan managed to achieve is quite impressive, comparing, what did K-1 Global manage to do? Yeah, almost nothing.

Nice!
I wonder if this has any ties to what K-1 Global is doing at this point. Will they continue with their Euro GPs this year or will they go full radio silence again? At any rate I think the best thing would be if K-1 Global would just merge into K-1 Japan, bringing the full rights back to Japan already which is how I feel it should always be for K-1 anyway.

I already lost any faith I had for Mr Kim and his decision making ability. After the fuckup that was the Zagreb GP Final and subsequent dispute over who will pay the bills Zovko goes to confront him in Belgrad and they discuss working together again? Really?

Yeah they should've merged long ago already but guess the current owners don't want to. The K-1 Japan people should oversee it all and sure do K-1 Euro events like they've done now with Kuruc and whoever. Now it's all backwards the guys doing all the really good stuff not in control and people not really doing much at all being in control of the bigger picture. The Azerbaijan event is still happening, they just had a presser for that a little while ago too. How K-1 that is I don't know. Still see a logo there at least. Think this was at least supposed to be a 75kg tournament.

I'm not sure what the future of K-1 Global is, to be honest.
We've already seen Alin Halmagean, one of their two managers, jump ship to another promotion. Ned has been officially 'on leave' for about a year now, although he helped organize the few shows they've done.

For what it's worth, Elnur Mammadov (the guy in the middle of that picture), the one running the Azerbaijan "Best of the Best" promotion, is still calling himself a K-1 official.

Yeah, I was gonna say, the only person I recognize was Elnur. He was named an official K-1 partner or something similar a while back.

Yup. And not that it matters but just for the sake of it, from left Ziya Bayramov, Tural Bayramov, Elnur, Alim Nabiev and Ruslan Kryvusha.

Unless Kim decides to write it off as a bust I can't imagine the future is going to be any different than the present; an endless series of blunders punctuated with nearly invisible events every few years. Their biggest success and only source of revenue that is publicly visible is... licensing fees for the name from Japan? They don't seem to have the will, the ability, or the resources to do anything more than what they're doing right now, and the only way I can see that changing is if they completely pull the plug.

Wu Lin Feng either got some partner for their events outside China or there's a new promotion "under WLF" starting, not entirely sure which. Going to New Zealand, Moscow and Vegas later in the year.
e: Okay seems like just a new production team/complete graphical overhaul for them.
