Looks like Hunan tv might be getting back into broadcasting kickboxing again, some new promotion in april. 6 events planned for the year. AFAIK Hunan has only had like a couple one off events after the K-1 China thing fizzled out. Would mean 3 out of 3 (or maybe 4?) biggest commercial tv stations in China would be broadcasting kickboxing.

Nice! I wonder if this has any ties to what K-1 Global is doing at this point. Will they continue with their Euro GPs this year or will they go full radio silence again? At any rate I think the best thing would be if K-1 Global would just merge into K-1 Japan, bringing the full rights back to Japan already which is how I feel it should always be for K-1 anyway. Yeah they should've merged long ago already but guess the current owners don't want to. The K-1 Japan people should oversee it all and sure do K-1 Euro events like they've done now with Kuruc and whoever. Now it's all backwards the guys doing all the really good stuff not in control and people not really doing much at all being in control of the bigger picture. The Azerbaijan event is still happening, they just had a presser for that a little while ago too. How K-1 that is I don't know. Still see a logo there at least. Think this was at least supposed to be a 75kg tournament. Just saw Kazuma share a video of this presser: www.facebook.com/bestofthebestk1/videos/1531010483594606/

Just caught a commercial announcing Idris Elba: Fighter on the Dutch Discovery Channel. It premieres on March 5th. Meanwhile all 3 episodes have made it to the internet, but I have yet to watch it.

In other news looks like a bunch of Chinese kickboxing clubs might've joined together, headed by Fang Bian. Don't think this is an event promotion or anything like that but basically a fighters union. Claim they jointly represent 80% of the pro kickboxers around. Doesn't seem to include the Da Dongxiang gym. Saw another story saying the main Da Dongxiang guys make 1mil+ yuan/year (~$145k, training is free). Possibly in relation to the "union" news to say their guys are doing just fine already.

So I'm guessing Glory 44 will probably be one of those 4 Asia events and happening between June 24th and July 21st.

So apparently this is happening, but other than being scheduled to happen in just over two weeks we have no details.

Not quite the scheduling of past years where they had quite solid dates. They first gave a date in February and think for a WGP event. Then that date changed and now this is like a New Heroes one I guess? Then first WGP in April.

pro events 3rd party held lower level local pro events amateur events student events
events lead into opportunities on the next level one.
Interesting to see results from their system after it's ran for a few years.

Hadn't watched any of the vids Valtellini has been putting on out his youtube till now. Has a pretty respectable ~6k subs on his channel in a few months basically. Don't know how big of a Joe Rogan push he might have gotten but nice to see. www.youtube.com/user/JosephValtellini/videos

Oh man, instructional videos!
First thing that came to mind are those old Peter Aerts VHS tapes from the mid 90s.

Not exactly fighting related but from the first song in 2009 Genki Sudo and his World Order seem to be doing quite good and much better than I expected. Would be fun if K-1 Japan got them to perform at their Saitama Super Arena events.
