Not sure about the MMA portion on Sunday, though.

Some last minute changes to the card (OP updated):
WFL Final 8 Championship Tournament QF#4 - Fred Sikking vs. Nordine Mahieddine QF#3 - Andrei Stoica vs. Levi Kuyken QF#2 - Sam Tevette vs. Clyde Brunswijk QF#1 - Murat Aygun vs. Fabio Kwasi * Ibrahim El Bouni vs. Levi Rigters is replaced by Fred Sikking vs. Nordine Mahieddine. * Levi Kuyken replaces Boy Boy Martin.
- Tournament winner gets 100k and a Bellator contract. - There is also a Bellator contract to be earned in the MMA portion of the fights.
While it's a shame we don't have the same initial Final 8 that qualified -for whatever reason-, I do like the replacement fighters and this is still a very solid line-up.

This is going to air on the Dutch Spike TV. You can also buy an official stream for 5 bucks (not sure if it's geo-blocked, but you can always circumvent that): wfl.cleeng.com/wfl-final-8/E108992193_NLUnfortunately I couldn't find any free streams, but the broadcast kicks off in a little under 6 hours and more streams may pop up over the course of the day.

Still very early and in typical Dutch fashion probably 300 fights on the card, but looks _quite_ empty. Hope for their sake it fills up towards the main fights.

That's the unfortunate thing with WFL events. They always end up quite empty even by the time the bigger fights come along.
Kind of explains - to a degree - why they're struggling financially without any big TV or other major sponsorship deals to make up for it.
It's a shame, because they do have a solid product.

Results & thoughts Final 8 HW Tournament Murat Aygun defeats Nordine Mahieddine by Decision --- Nordine Mahieddine defeats Andrei Stoica by Decision Murat Aygun defeats Sam Tevette by Decision --- Nordine Mahieddine defeats Fred Sikking by Decision Andrei Stoica defeats Levi Kuyken by Decision Sam Tevette defeats Clyde Brunswijk by Decision Murat Aygun defeats Fabio Kwasi by Decision
Tournament Reserve Fight (at least that's what I think it was) Dexter Suisse defeats Martin Terpstra by Decision
Superfights Jorina Baars defeats Amel Dehby by KO R1 (Knee)
"Influencer Battle" (Special Rules Boxing Match between 2 YouTubers..) Nesim Najih defeats Anouar Vines by Decision
+++The Good+++ - Mahieddine/Sikking was great. Very hard fought bout with Mahieddine scoring a fantastic knockdown in the last round. - Aygun had two good/entertaining performances; in the semi-finals and final. While there are definitely weaknesses in his game and luck was on his side tonight, as of now he is still undefeated (as a pro at least). - Mahieddine was perhaps the most consistently entertaining fighter, giving 3 entertaining fights. I felt legitimately bad for him when he was crying for having lost in the final. - Stoica looked pretty solid in the tournament. Perhaps a bit too hesitant in the early rounds which cost him the fight against Mahieddine. - Baars, what a killer. I mean sure Dehby was a late replacement, but the way Baars just put her away made her seem like some low tier fodder. - Aside from some technical issues with the sound and the bit of 'turmoil' near the end, the production of the show looked pretty good.
---The Bad--- - Aygun/Kwasi was disappointing. There were a lot of nerves from both fighters due to both talking tons of trash beforehand and it resulted in mindgames and unsportsmanlike behaviour like hits after breaks and headbutts. Kwasi was the main instigator and got a point deduction for it in the third after several warnings and it ended up costing him the fight. Or at least an extra round as it was a close fight. - The "Influencer Battle". I understand why they do it, but do it on the undercard. It's just another version of freakshow fights/veteran soldiers fighting in Glory/etc. I don't mind it on J-MMA New Years Eve shows, I don't mind it on undercards, but I do mind it on the main card of serious events. - From a technical standpoint, there were sound issues where the commentary team's voices were echoing for several minutes on end. Can't have that on TV. - Again, a bit of an empty venue. Too bad. These events deserve better. - A bit of a riot broke out with a lot of fans jumping in the ring after Aygun was declared the winner over Mahieddine. Not sure if it was Aygun fans, Mahieddine fans or a bit of both, but it looked messy for a minute.
---Other notes--- - Stoica/Kuyken was a solid fight that would have been really good if it wasn't for the several groin shots by both fighters. Sem Schilt (who did co commentary didn't agree with the decision, but I thought Stoica did enough in the close fight to put his stamp on it. - There were a ton of fights that aired for free before the tv broadcast which I haven't seen and couldn't find any results for.
Overall just a pretty fun tournament/event. I just hope WFL doesn't fade into obscurity like so many other promotions before it.

Not sure exactly, but Baars looked skinny enough.
