This is a good card.
It's funny, but I think Kato Hisaki might turn out to be a really good fit for K-1 Japan.
As a multilingual half Japanese guy with some international spotlight due to his wins over Schilling in two sports he appeals to more than one type of audience.

Surprised to see them book Melsik again so soon after his last showing, I hope for his sake he makes more of it this time.
Good to see Yamazaki back, and Kato actually has me curious. I didn't think too much of him when he fought Schilling, but he still flattened him twice. If they're going to have the higher weight class Japanese guys around then it's nice to see some new blood from time to time instead of the same 2 or 3 guys I guess.

Kato could do okay for them but wish the new names started trending a bit more towards high skill guys.
Unless Kato has improved a lot in the last year and a half he just isn't a great kickboxer. Schilling was beating him silly till he lost focus and took his nap. Kato also said he had no interest in kickboxing back then and from I remember clearly seemed like he meant it. Now that I guess Bellator let him go is this out of actual interest or just the next promotion willing to pay him?
Sorsor just lost on Wu Lin Feng too, dunno what he has against Koya.

Kato Hisaki made his Japanese kickboxing debut today on the Nagoya promotion S-Battle. No vids up yet, but he defeated his opponent via 1RKO. Dropped him first with low kicks, then with a superman punch, then KO'd him with low kicks. The opponent got taken out a stretcher apparently
BLACK DRAGON brings a couple of good assets vs. Koya. Namely, he looks suitably intimidating but has very low probability of upsetting him, keeping him active but not derailed until Gonnapar disposes of Sasaki Daizo and makes his way back to K-1 for a rematch

So now those Hiroya and his lawyer's accusations against K-1 seem doubtful at best after Anpo brothers defected Try Hard and started their own gym just to stay in K-1.
Well, to be fair, there's also this possibility they didn't want to stay on the shelf for a year or go to court and try to get out of their contracts with K-1.
Either way, it doesn't look that good for Hiroya, the gym owner. Any word about Matsukura?

While I don't doubt that TRY HARD has legit grievances towards K-1 Japan, they've obviously overlooked the fact that there's a reason K-1 is able to impose those contracts to begin with. There's a world of difference between a kickboxer for RISE and a "K-1 fighter". Matsukura is fighting alongside HIROYA for RISE 125 on the very same day this event is going down. He faces Son Hyun Lee (Hiroya fights Takaya lol)

While I certainly can understand not liking the exclusivity in the contracts or the automatic renewal, K-1 at least is able to mostly deliver what they promise, the fighters get regular fights in either K-1 or Krush, and if you're good you don't get srubs to pad your record but actual challenges. Not hating on RISE but they're not on that level and let's see if Sakakibara and his Rizin can live up to even half of their promises.
Well, at least Matsukura gets a decent fight, unlike Hiroya.

Unfortunately Melsik pulls out. Big Bang champ Yamagiwa Kazuki faces Kimura on 2 weeks turnaround instead. Back on the 4th, he won a decision vs. another fighter named Kimura.

A potential 'Kimura-killer'? (OP Updated BTW)
Either way, happening this Sunday!!
I haven't commented on it yet, but I'm a bit scared for Kido fighting a prepared Massaro.
Another rather large card at a total of 19 fights, but I'm ready for more K-1 since it's been 3 months since K'Festa already.

On a sidenote, I would be more bummed out about Melsik dropping out if he didn't have such a disappointing showing last time he fought.

Yeah, Melsik totally shit the bed last time he fought. It was just a stultifyingly boring nothing fight and then he tried to storm the commentary desk.
Karaev Fan, do you know what time the RISE 125 broadcast is?

Runs from 15:00 Japan time! Not sure if you'll be checking this while you're in Japan, but is GYAO online broadcast only? I saw people saying it's on Fuji Live but I thought it was more like a streaming site than a TV channel. Either way, enjoy Gonnapar Vs Rukiya!
