As some of you might have already noticed, the inevitable day has come: The original Kakutougi Forum is down. I've monitored it for a few days to be sure it's not just a short temporary issue before addressing it publically. A quick lookup on Who Is reveals the Domain lease had actually been renewed and shouldn't expire before May 27, 2015. However, for some reason it's down already. If anyone's interested, there's a backup available (archived on 24-06-2014) at archive-info.com/You need to register an account though, since only 2 archived pages are shown for unregistered users. The original Kakutougi ran from 2004 to 2015. For any forum to stick around for over a decade while remaining relevant in a face off against ever growing Social Media is awesome. While it's an ongoing battle, I'm confident in saying that quality forums haven't become obsolete. Coincidentally, New Kakutougi is having its 1 year anniversary in two days (March 22nd). Keep an eye out for some special announcements regarding New Kakutougi's 1st Birthday (and the community's 11th)! In conclusion I want to give a shout-out to all the members who haven't migrated with us and went down with the ship. Without your guys past contributions we wouldn't have made it this long. And to all our current members: thanks for all your contributions and keep up the good work!

It was definatly a good time. Lots of drunk posts, Kakuda action posts, funny stuff in the "If you are bored" thread... and so on and so on. I wish that loreia and Dado would have migrated, too.

loreia will be back when his kids move out of his house. so I dunno like 15-20 yrs he should be back. Dado is out adding to his belt collection kicking peoples asses. I think we will see them show up sometime though. they both know about the new place.
old kakutougi will be missed. id feel a lot better about it all if I knew what happened to Stu though. he doesn't even respond to email makes me wonder if something happened to him.

Yeah, hope Stuart is ok. Hasn't made a single social media post in almost two years. Anyone know?

Personally I've had no luck in contacting Stuart, not via Facebook, Email, PM etc.
I'm afraid there's nothing, at least not that I know of. He had ties to Team Ichigeki so if anyone has a way of getting in touch with one of those guys, they might at least know if he's okay.

The gut feeling is not good. I mean, yeah, if he was somewhat inactive from time to time, sure. But he had like 15k posts here and 18k posts on Sherdog. It could sometimes go a month or two but two years, nothing? Really wish someone could bring some clearance.

Hey guys,
I hope you all are doing well? I can't believe it's been more than 10 years since Kakutougi started! That's a long time. A damn long time. It's been a really good time, though. Myself and Stu I think were arguing with some folks on Sherdog about who-knows-what, went to private messaging each other, bickering about everyone else, and were both saying we should start our own forum instead of hanging around there. Said and done. I financed it for the first few years and then we split it to a different web-host where Stu shelled out for the hosting and myself the domain-registration-crap and programming. You know, I remember still sitting on the balcony and getting a via voice play-by-play of Pride. It's hard to grasp UFC is in every home now and the Internet has gotten a hell of a lot faster.
You know, years passed with nothing strange going on. We kept the forum rolling. When it came to my attention that the lease was coming to an end and I couldn't get a hold of Stu, I tried some moves to get on the server, but to no avail. I tried calling him and e-mailing him but it was all quiet. We used to talk quite a bit privately on just things about life. I had a towards the last year or two a fleeting interest in the forum, but because we talked on there, I can't say when or how we drifted apart. We'd always be quick on the response, just we talked less, for the time being. Life comes and goes in phases, I guess. But dude dropped of the face of the earth ...
That said and that piece of history, anybody knows what's up? Stu, per my impression, is a great guy and I wasn't ever seeing him as the type to go dark on everyone or disappear for no good reason. I was hoping I'd see him on here today, but it's all a bit of a mystery, it seems.

I've finally meandered my way back to Kakutougi. Things are coming full circle for me so it's no surprise that I end up here again. Hi to everyone that is still around that remembers me. A lot of stuff to catch up on I'm sure... but one step at a time. Thank you for everything you've ever done for us K1power. Looking forward to posting here again.

Hello to my old Kakutougi friends who may still remember me. Was feeling nostalgic and stopped by, someone contacted me once to ask if I had heard from oYo and unfortunately like everyone else I hadn't. In any case I'm glad to see the forums still here and that the spirit of thoughtful and mature conversation still reigns.
