Months of silence after their China VS Japan show (and postponed/cancelled China VS Thailand event) and this is the first thing they announce other than promoting K-1 Japan GPs. Did things go stale in China? Are they simply looking to recruit some talent in Italy for a China VS Italy show? Also, a countdown clock has started on their website (that has been down for months now), scheduled for a 'reveal' of sorts on June 17th. www.k-1.tv/What does all this mean and what are they thinking?

Wouldn't put too much weight on that countdown clock. I saw it at least 2 times after they took out their website and nothing happened, it just went back to counting from the same number.
And I don't know what's going on with K-1 Global either.

I believe the countdown clock is being reset each time, just because. I'm not sure WHY they are doing it and not just a "coming soon" or something, but fuck.

Yeah that countdown counted down to 0 in april first time already Haven't seen a peep from Global/China and the couple guys who did some things for them haven't seemed to be posting aaaaaaaanything K-1 related anymore. If I had to guess the China thing is done but who knows. Yod and think even Buakaw still had kickboxing contracts under K-1 but they both seem to be fighting for Kunlun just fine. You'd think K-1, if active, might have not wanted to let that happen?

I know that they wanted to run a show in Thailand again with Yodsanklai, but returning there seemed ill-advised, to say the least. I really don't think that they did anything illegal or even unethical with their last show, but they really got buried.

I honestly wonder what the hell Kim/Kuruc/Alin are thinking. Might very well be that a lot of things are happening behind the scenes, but not announcing anything to the public for months is never a good thing. Did the whole China affair really go sour from China 'losing' to Japan, despite the monster ratings it got? So many questions, so little transparency.
At this point I'd just like for K-1 Japan to become the face of K-1, fully take over and somehow be able to go full force with a bigger budget. They're not getting nearly enough exposure while they bring the true K-1 experience.
