I think this RR comeback is the reason why Dana White has pissed all over GSP's attempts at coming back. Can't be outshining Ronda when Dana's already declared her comeback "the biggest UFC PPV of all time" and the new-ish owners of the company also happen to manage her.
GSP went on UFC Tonight a few months back and was basically asking to come back at the beginning of December PPV in Canada, as long as he was treated fairly in the cash department, but when asked, Dana merely denied and said that GSP didn't heave the heart to fight again. With Ronda coming back on 30/12, a GSP comeback puts a real spanner in the works for the media blitz the UFC are desperate to shower on the Golden Girl.
To me personally, a GSP comeback is a far bigger deal than a Rousey one.
Hopefully, he may return in early 2017 when the coast is clear. That is, if he isn't pissed off at the UFC for backhanding him, which likely goes back to GSP wanting to vacate the WW title, which really pissed off White.

That's how I took it. How these things are enforced is another matter entirely, but any inside the distance defeat should result in 30-90 day medical suspension. KO losses should have 90 day automatic suspensions attached to them. Just mt feeling on the matter.

Only 14 days no contact after such a defeat? For health and safety reasons, I wouldn't like Marcus to compete until at least December.

Marcus is back in action a bit fast, isn't he? Should he not be serving a medical suspension of some kind?

Looks to be in a cage then I guess. Should be some atmosphere. I'm looking forward to it. I'm going to try and avoid spoilers and watch it tomorrow night/early Sunday. Hopefully Jian Liang-Bulaid will be a fight worthy of such an extravagant setting. The whole stadium lay out reminds me of Dynamite!! 2002, which I think still holds the record for highest paid attendance for a (predominantly) MMA show. I wonder if Antonio Inoki will make a special guest appearance and parachute into the stadium as a homage?

ESPN have reported that VADA president Dr. Margaret Goodman has informed both Fury and Klitschko camps and the British Boxing Board Of Control that Fury has tested positive for cocaine. So at least it is official. ESPN also claim to have a copy of the letter sent to all relevant parties. It is now said to be the decision of the BBBC whether Fury's positive result was within the realms of in competition or out of competition. I was previously of the belief that WADA (who are not a drug testing agency, they set the rules for the agencies like VADA, USADA and UKAD to go by. Some people get WADA and VADA confused) set the in comp and out of comp guidelines but perhaps in the UK it is the BBBC who have that right. If so, expect the Board to throw the book at Fury, they have butted heads many times over the past few years from his social media output to his general behaviour at boxing events, fining him many times.
The Daily Mirror have since reported that Fury's UKAD hearing will be on November 4th.

If Jon Jones' case is anything to go by then this is something of a misnomer. Cocaine is only classed as a PED in the 12 hrs before and after competition and Jones wasn't punished at all for his cocaine positive by the NAC or the UFC. Plus, Jones' cocaine test was taken exactly one month before his bout with Daniel Cormier, on December 4th, the results not corroborated until December 23rd but not made public until after his bout with Cormier (Jan 4th).
Fury's rematch with Klitschko wasn't scheduled until October 29th and the test that he failed was taken on September 23rd. So the period of time in between test and fight is actually longer than that of Jones. Unless their are explicit rules from the governing bodies that he is champion of (WBA and WBO) that preclude him from taking recreational drugs whilst out of competition, and I do not think that their are any however I may be wrong, then I don't see why he should be stripped of his titles or face punishment. Jones didn't.
Plus, VADA, the agency who conducted this particular test, are usually air tight on these types of things and are usually the first to make public any news of failures. The fact that the media are trumpeting this as fact before VADA have said anything is very worrying. Amazing that his issues with UKAD (UK Anti Doping) and his alleged PED failure under their procedures was kept quiet for more than a year before anything leaked out (again, through the media and not the official agency conducting the test), yet this latest one took less than a week. Both cases it was the same newspaper that broke both stories.
He still has to face a UKAD panel, alongside his cousin Hughie, for the PED violations (both allegedly have tested positive for Nandrolone) that still have yet to made 100% clear.

The press release said that they would get down to business straight away, good to see that they are acting on it. Perhaps the move to switch Holzken-Groenhart to Denver (I think it was slated for Collision, wasn't it?) is based on the investment deal as well and they have some other big plans for the December show. Or maybe they just thought that RVR-Varga wasn't a strong enough main event or UFC told them to up their game as regards October's SFS.
I thought that the new money guys coming on board would be mostly China-centric, glad that doesn't seem to be the case.
I wonder if when the Chinese arm of GLORY gets off the ground whether they will use the GLORY name, some kind of offshoot or something totally different?

Disappointed they didn't carry on their elemental pricing theme and offer a "copper" seating plan.
I think top whack seats for UFC @ MSG are $1506, just for comparison. The show that is being called in some quarters the best UFC card of all time.

They changed it to a 21st century techno-y updated version (I really liked it) which debuted for UFC 187 and can be found here: but social media uproar forced the UFC to revert back to the original version which, in my opinion, needs to be consigned to The Vault.
Sometimes they forego the opening altogether and replace it with a card specific dramatic hype vid.

There is a reason why I've shared a European title fight from 1982. I'd heard about it a long time ago but the fighters were not identified. Fast forward to the 43 minute mark and you will find the fight end abruptly with Castanon's team actually jumping in the ring to celebrate before the fight is actually stopped, which is grounds for a DQ but it would take a brave ref to do such a thing as Castanon was the "home" fighter, the fight was held in his hometown no less, and this was back when a European title actually meant a lot.
The reason the fight was called off? It's not actually seen but the towel is thrown in, causing Castanon's team to erupt with joy. The referee doesn't have to wave the fight off if the towel comes in, it's more recommendation than a solid rule, I've seen fights where the official kicks the towel out and tells the fighters to carry on. However, in this case the arbiter is ambushed and the ring is filled with people before he knows what's happening and he just goes along with it.
The best part of it is, the towel was thrown in by a fan of Castanon on the opposition side of the ring and not by Londas' corner!
Londas would go on to have the last laugh of sorts, as he went on to win a world title a decade after this fight, at the third time of asking. Castanon fell short in two world title attempts. He had the misfortune of challenging the exceptional Danny "Little Red" Lopez and the incredible Salvador Sanchez in his world title tilts.
And finally, how great would it be if the UFC used a tune like the one that accompanies the start of this broadcast to open up a PPV rather than "Face the pain!!!!"?

I just watched Gajji vs Hungarian guy and damn what a war! Did you score it? I couldn't split them and had it 48-48 at the end, scoring round two even. Hopefully there will be a rematch.

They've got L'Equipe on board too. I believe they are France's biggest sports news agency, or at least the best known. Mostly famous for misinterpreting the quotes of pro footballers but nevertheless, it's a boon for GLORY to have them covering the show.

Turgid ratings but Kharim Ghajji--Zoltan Lazak was a great main event. Ghajji always brings it and this was no different whilst Lazak just wouldn't stop throwing strikes. Certainly worth a watch, anyone who hasn't seen it yet.
