I never liked, and still don't like The Sopranos, though. Pretentious, immature, overrated show. Really? I still haven't seen it, but it's one of the two 'classic' shows on my watchlist alongside The Wire that everybody says are the two best shows ever. I'm doubtful that either can top Breaking Bad and Better Call Sall for me personally, but I'm a sucker for crime stuff.

Generally speaking, I don't like the Genre Films/Shows That Are Actually About Human Psychology genre. I totally understand how pointless it would've been to make a longer Godfather of 90s North Jersey edition, and why they opted for that style. But that doesn't mean I like it. I knew right from the first five minutes of the first episode that I wasn't going to like it. As far as I'm concerned, if The Godfather is a Greek tragedy, The Sopranos is a mediocre Franzen novel.
Absolutely superb acting especially from Edie Falco, though. Perhaps the finest "housewife" performance in the history of TV drama.

So, "bullying," as in a political party criticizing a member for reneging on the very platform that they ran on.
Let's do more of it then.
FYI, Krysten Sinema said a while ago that she couldn't quite remember how she came out as a bisexual.
If you believe it's possible for anyone who's truly queer to forget how their coming out experience/moment was, I have a bridge to sell. You might argue that bisexualism tends to be more "casual" than the others, but only relatively. Ask the bisexuals who actually came out to their friends and families. I challenge you to bring me ONE who doesn't remember how it went.
Identity politics grifter, on top of all the other crap about that Senator.
Socially-liberal fiscally/economically-conservative neoliberalism should have no place in our future. It's not only unjust, but also a complete political dead end. Thankfully, at this moment, the Democratic Party is gradually sailing away from that garbage.
And we are talking about a woman who even dares to fake her identity to promote the garbage. Needs to be crushed.

If you saw Donald Trump promote the vaccines to the Alabama MAGA crowd, get booed, and then grovel pathetically to appease them ("Of course, of course you've got your freedom, it's your freedom!"), and still don't understand the actual mechanism of Trumpism, and the role of Donald in it, you really should refrain from making any comment about politics at all.
And unfortunately that's 80% of the Beltway press, it seems.

No way this man learned about jet lag and the standard practice of frequent travelers to overcome it. What a genius. Definitely worth writing a full article about.

Nails it.
You see, this is our disease. It's a total pandemic. So many things are treated exactly like the subplot of a story about someone/some people's self-actualization, while people actually suffer and die, both figuratively and fucking literally.

And this is basically what has been going on in a nutshell.
There really isn't much more in it. This is what's behind their hostility to Joe Biden. Those morons assumed he would be an Obama lite. They have talked to Biden a lot more than I ever have, but somehow missed his enormous ambition as a politician, and now as the president, which was impossible for me to miss even during his campaign.
He was going to do everything in his power to avoid becoming an Obama lite. And these morons are upset about that.

The most convincing theory that I've heard on the British psyche.

I've heard a lot of people talk about "the flu" since the pandemic began, but I wonder how many of them actually know what it is.
Because if you actually listen to them, in eight cases out of ten it sounds like a bad cold, a non-influenza. They just call whatever they got "the flu."
The actual flu = influenza is pretty goddamn awful.

I must admit that my general hatred of GenX does get me worked up about Krysten Sinema, perhaps a lot more than I should be.

I totally agree with this, and am incredibly glad that I cancelled the New York Times subscription in time (and got rid of the WaPo subscription ages ago too).

I used to draw a line between the op-ed and reporting. I found the former atrocious, but valued the latter, and in fact still do. Someone has to go out there, see things and report them. They are our eyes, our ears. But there are increasingly more and more inane assertions and even advocacies masquerading as journalistic reports these days, particularly on the trusted names in the media world. I don't understand why I've been put in the position to defend Joe Biden this often and this hard, but the fact of the matter is that I have to because of all the bullshit on the pages of those newspapers. It has gotten so incredibly bad. It's Joe fucking Biden for crying out loud. Makes my old friends weep. But I have to because, you know, shit like this. This has nothing to do with reality. It's like a pure, immaculate, crystalized spin. In this age of intense tribalism, they somehow decided to lose their credibility as a fair observer, by completely fucking up the concept of being fair. They think being "fair" is about quoting the same number of Democrats and Republicans in an article no matter what, and I realized that they will never reflect on, let alone get out of, the destructive inanity of that. I gave up.

If you are a celebrity, you really should stick with things that you actually know a thing or two about so as to avoid embarrassing yourself in public like this:

Suddenly everyone and their wife and husband and sons and daughters and cats and hamsters are dunking on Zuckerberg, and like I said, that's good! Of course there's a gigantic amount of hypocrisy and opportunism involved there, but I really don't give a shit. It's fucking Facebook, man. It's shit, and shit attracts shit flies in all sorts of ways.
And what's funny and sad is that you'd be hard-pressed to find someone for whom Facebook is truly utterly essential and irreplaceable. It's a badly designed shit platform with zero elegance and no true functionality, but somehow we let it poison the world to such a degree.
We are fucking idiots who basically deserve Facebook. A vapid numbskull fuck like Zuckerberg is who you deserve to get as your best friend.
