If you listen to Vinay Prasad talking about Covid for 15 minutes and find him credible... OK, I guess you are a working man/woman who has had no time to spend on keeping up with the Covid researches and findings during this pandemic, but otherwise, yes, you are a Joe Rogan.

And if you think that's a compliment, you really are a Joe Rogan.

I have zero tolerance for anyone who plays/fucks carelessly with public health issues. I lump them together and label that bucket as "The Bottom Feeders", and boy, you don't know how many people I have had to throw into that one over the last two years. No, they will never get out of that bucket as far as I'm concerned. Something is broken inside you if you can be so nonchalant and careless about an infectious disease that can kill a large number of people.

So, these guys are fucked. I have no idea what made those overanxious liberals think the fed would go easy on them. Seditious conspiracy is as serious as it can get. It's game over for them.

It's been a very long time since the last time I completely agreed with Paul Krugman.
He's completely right in that thread.

I don't know whether the media have become more alert than before due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, but I've seen quite a few reports on different bird flu cases in the last several months, certainly a lot more than I used to.

You know, what's most annoying about Djokovic is that he always, always tries to waltz around the central issue, be it his own belief or the real cause of a problem in the tennis world, to avoid facing difficult situations and questions. For someone that eloquent, he never mans up and says what's truly on his mind, if you allow me to use a very right-wing expression. Some say that's just pragmatic of him, even mature of him, and indeed I used to think that was at least partially because of him carrying a lot more than his own matters on his shoulders, namely the image of his own country, whether it was real or him being a bit delusional (I thought it was both). So while I found it annoying, I let it go, and didn't think much of it.
But I changed my mind a while ago when I realized it was actually all about himself. It was just about his own ego, all the time. He's just a small man, a typical narcissist who doesn't want to get his fee-fees hurt. The guy's such a fake-ass athlete intellectual, and his being a Serb is hardly a major reason for why he's enormously less popular than Nadal and Federer even though he's objectively a better tennis player than both.

Basketball players are the bellwether of Covid, aren't they? The PCR positivity rates of the NBA went absolutely off the charts pretty early, and are now coming down rapidly. They are ahead of the rest of us.
That's largely because they test regularly, but there's something about basketball players too. Japan is now in the beginning of an Omicron super wave, and it's once again professional basketball players leading the way with their super-high positivity rates. It's not just the US.

I definite remember seeing a sketch just like this in an old British comedy show, so I call plagiarism on this one.

More than 90% of problems in the world are caused by either the fallacy of composition, post hoc ergo propter hoc, or both. I think I've said it before, but it can't be stressed enough.

This has been a persistent problem with Novak Djokovic, but he really should have better people around himself. I'm not talking about the whole anti-vaxx/alternative medicine crap, or even Pepe Imaz. He trusted lizards like Gimelstob in the tennis world, so I can only imagine how he is outside it.
I talked the living shit out of him in a previous rant, but he's not a bad person at all. Hell, he's a good one. But he's just not very wise. Which tennis player is, you may ask, but he absolutely overrates his own wisdom.

You really shouldn't overreact to Serbia's overreaction. Consider it to be a kind of a ritual. Serbia has to do it. The country is not a France. It doesn't have the luxury of being cool and aloof, and it's arrogant of you to expect that from everyone. And no, it's definitely not the same as Nigel Farage spouting jingoism. Don't insult Serbs.

Tatooine being such a diverse and metropolitan place doesn't feel right.
