I like this thread because I can totally do without the stupid "I DEFINITELY DON'T MEAN TO DEFEND OR JUSTIFY XXX'S ACTIONS IN ANY WAY, LET ME MAKE THAT PERFECTLY CLEAR FIRST" stuff. It's such a waste or words and even can obfuscate the points that you are trying to make.

Have I even mentioned the fact that the idea of Ukraine joining NATO was unpopular *in Ukraine too*?
It seems to me that a hell of a lot of people don't even know that, somehow assuming all Ukrainians outside the separatists were begging the West to let them in.
Ukraine is a total political basket case, but Ukrainians aren't idiots. They were aware that they were right next to Russia, and what such a move could trigger.

This is a very explicit, grotesque example, but I've seen LOTS of this shit in the last several days in all kinds of Western media spaces, albeit in subtler ways.
It's stupid and pointless to demand from them as much outrage at the human catastrophes in the non-"white" areas, but still, it's telling, and non-"whites" like me have to nod to each other and tacitly go, "Yup, we still don't have to calibrate our expectations, no change in their attitude, nothing to see."

Well, let me just say this. I didn't really like Ukrainians up until four days ago but now I feel a hell of a lot of respect towards them and can only hope I could act this brave in a similar situation. So if Putins objective was to turn all the rage of us normal human beings towards Russia then he got his wish.

In asymmetric urban warfare, RPG, AK-47 and Toyota Pickup Truck are the holy trinity of weaponry. I know I talked a lot about that back in the days like a fucking insufferable nerd, but it is the truth.
It hasn't reached that Syria/Iraq/Chechenia/Gaza/etc. stage yet, but if the Russians want to succeed in this kind of a large-scale invasion with multiple fronts, they can't afford to be squeamish. But thankfully, it seems that the Russian troops have so far shown reluctance/restraint to do what they call "breaking eggs" = harming/killing a lot of civilian population.
The morale of the Russian troops, other than the air forces, seems low.

And, needless to say, on the Ukrainian side, these far-right neo-nazi Azov creeps will have to play a big role in defending Ukraine, as part of the Ukrainian National Guard. It's unfortunate, but this is Ukraine, a mosaic world full of historical burdens.
In case you're wondering what this even means, lad = pork fat = racist symbol against Muslims, Chechens.

If you see me post multiple rants in a row on the same topic, that doesn't only mean it's the hugest topic of the week, which Ukraine obviously is, but also that I'll have to write a long one about it soon. Yeah, I'm using this thread as a personal notebook, again.
But I still have no idea what I will write about. Honestly I'm at a loss, and I only have two days.
