LOL @ people making a big deal out of the ruble strengthening. Like, what else did they expect? Did they think the Russian government would just let their currency sink and die?
Of course they were going to prop it up like a madman. I think Russian exporters have to convert all of their hard currency earnings into rubles now.
And the point is that that's not going to solve the problem of shortages and rising prices to come. It's just a bandaid.
There are many people who should just learn to stay in their lane. Sure, I never do either, but do you think I didn't make a lot of effort to be that way?

Yeah, the people that I know who got Covid this or last week all live in New York/Connecticut/New Jersey/Massachusetts.
Scott Gottlieb is good, but I take his words with a grain of salt these days. He's been a tad too optimistic and premature since 2021.

So, it's been 6 weeks since Russia invaded Ukraine?
A lot of military experts told us that Ukraine would fall within 72 hours or less.

Nightmare Alley was really good. I didn't really like what they did to the original story, but the great production design made up for it. And Cate Blanchett. Hot.

I think I've talked about Roger Stone in this thread way back, but if anyone knows about drug-filled orgies in D.C., it's Roger Stone.
But then he's such a compulsive liar, and more importantly, currently such a horrible meth addict that I wouldn't quite trust him either.
And this kind of stuff does tend to be exaggerated, and exaggeration is what Stone has been paid for for his entire career.
Orgies do happen, though. But as far as I know, more in Brussels than in D.C. believe it or not.

This is absolutely astonishing. Never thought this had any chance at all.
This is Amazon we are talking about here. Amazon! There was nothing, and next thing you know, kaboom, they are unionizing. Absolutely amazing.

Yeah, whatever, Roman Abramovich is nothing but a giant thief who stole from Russians to make a fortune. There's really nothing else you need to know about that man. He has survived to this day because he made one right decision, and that is not to be *too* ambitious. Cunning pussy.
You heard that he paid $200-250m for Sibneft, and I'm telling you, it was effectively free. That payment was just a phantom formality. He had free lunch, vomited it, put it in a bottle and sold it back to the Russian government for $12bn later.
He's one of the worse thieves among the horrible thieves in Russia. That man is absolutely unredeemable even if he donated all of his wealth to charity now. Fuck him thoroughly.

I don't give a shit about football anymore, but if you are a Chelsea fan, I always had enormous contempt for all of you. You don't even know where to draw a line. And if you give me that your club being more important than your wife and mother's virginity or whatever, yeah, you are a freak too.
I can say a similar thing - although less - about a few other football clubs in the world, but no more venom on this matter. Not today. Abramovich is absolutely one of the worst-worst anyway. I always hated the fact that people went ridiculously softer on him than they did on Rotenberg, Usmanov, etc.

Hate to say this, but it's a fact that most of this kind of kinky, perverse stories about the vaccine come from Germany. German man got COVID jab 87 times — reportThe man reportedly went to eastern German jab centers and got vaccinated up to three times a day. Authorities believe it was all as part of a scheme to sell vaccination passes to anti-vaxxers. www.dw.com/en/german-man-got-covid-jab-87-times-report/a-61338245

A foreign policy idiot has a message.
Needless to say, this is going to help Fidesz and Orban, albeit just a little (because few give a shit about Clintons now, even in the Democratic party).

I once asked at a hotel bar someone working for Ted Cruz to tell me who among the Republicans that she personally knew the craziest one was, and her answer was Ginni Thomas.

The US Supreme Court is an institution that should have no place in a truly democratic polity. I'll say that over and over again until it penetrates your thick skull especially if you are American.
It's a thoroughly absurd institution. Other democratic countries have supreme courts too, but nowhere near as aristocratic and dictatorial as the USSC.

Maybe this is sarcasm, but Jen Psaki worked for this very company, Global Strategy Group, and Jay Carney, Obama's press secretary, runs the Amazon PR now. So, yeah, it's a perfectly Democratic thing to do/be.
