Now I hear that Badr unfollowed glory on instagram lol. Also the fact that he is so vocal about not fighting in september sound like a blow he tries to give glory so they can't sell tickets on behalf of those who would have still expected hari to fight in september. its already sold nearly 10,000 without him on it; to add him to the card now at mega cost would benefit nothing at all, unless the ticket prices were somehow able to be retrospectively raised. What's the setup like for the show? It's Showtime used to claim 20,000 but it can seat probably double that.

good question, i am not sure actually
i do know that Ajax don't allow anyone to cover the pitch, so the usable area is - if you imagine you're looking top down, bird's eye - one end of the arena, with a large backdrop curtaining off along one end of the pitch, so you're using about a third of the seating basically (this was the same setup Its Showtime used, but G59 is using a larger scale)
Showtime, I went to two of their events there. They were not 20k at all, no way. Big crowd, fucking great atmosphere, but no way it was over 10k
G59 will be a superb show though; if anyone is thinking of going i highly recommend it; will be like the recent Rotterdam Ahoy shows only bigger and crazier. The showtime shows there back in the day were great. Me and my friend used to get up at 5am, fly to amsterdam from uk, spend all day doing amsterdam stuff then head to the arena, afterward do more amsterdam stuff, sleep a few hours in a hostel then fly home next morning.

The Amsterdam ArenA - Or Johan Cruijff ArenA as it's called nowadays - has a maximum capacity of 54k. As JJ mentioned for events usually one end is being used which, depending on how it's configured comes down to about a third at maximum.
Now, I'm going to do the numbers from memory, but I've been to all three K-1 World GPs in Amsterdam in 2006-2008 with those being divided in It's Showtime! and K-1 portions. These were massive cards - even more so by today's standards - and I believe all events were reported as being sold out at 18k capacity which actually comes down to exactly a third of the Arena.
I'm bad at guesstimating, especially 10+ years down the line, but the place was packed every year and while 18k may have been a generously rounded up number, I have no problem buying a number like 15k.
If I had to compare it to something I'd say that size of the crowd was about on par with the K-1 WGP in Zagreb in 2013 which was also reported to be sold out at 17k capacity. That place was also packed, but I'd say that was probably more around 15k as well.
With Rico's popularity in Holland right now and kickboxing being much more acknowledged by the general public compared to a decade ago, I can see them filling up a nice chunk of this venue here, even if the card isn't really impressive.

^ I will defer to you on the numbers then because I am notoriously bad at guesstimating crowd sizes. I know the atmospheres were crazy at the events i went to and there were a fuckton of people.

Same here, I'm just (badly) guessing and like I said this was years ago so my numbers should be taken with a grain of salt as well.
It's even harder trying to get a feel from looking back at the footage, because the crew that filmed the Amsterdam events back then just did an awful job.

While the main event is disappointing, the rest of the card is pretty solid

I would rather see him fight rico than going into a instagram war. Like really , what is he doing... he is training and hyping up his next fight since may and yet nothing. Didn't he sign a multi-fight contract with glory... why is he able to negotiate again?

This card is solid, but I dunno, maybe I'm just thinking too much about it being in a giant arena or something, but it's not gonna fill that place. Rico vs. Guto is fine, I guess, but it's not that exciting.
Especially when the original rumors were of an eight-man heavyweight GP or Badr vs. Rico. Those were two really big things. This is just Rico vs. another guy.

To be fair, its lackluster in comparison to the potential mega card people were fantasizing about. But hey, we're still getting Petch, Rico, Groenhart, Nabiyev. If this was a UFC card (a very low bar, I know), it would be quite solid
