I almost wished Rico would pull a Kakuda and just do the word-for-word Rocky IV speech.

Full Results GLORY 59 Amsterdam Rico Verhoeven defeats Guto Inocente by Unanimous Decision Petchpanomrung Kiatmookao defeats Robin van Roosmalen by Unanimous Decision Jamal Ben Saddik defeats D’Angelo Marshall by TKO R1 Tyjani Beztati defeats Christian Baya by Split Decision (4-1)
GLORY 59 SuperFight Series Murthel Groenhart defeats Mohammed Jaraya by TKO R2 Alim Nabiyev defeats Eyevan Danenberg by Split Decision Michael Duut defeats Mourad Bouzidi by KO R3 Roël Mannaart defeats Daniel Skvor by Unanimous Decision Aleksei Ulianov defeats Zakaria Zouggary by Unanimous Decision
GLORY 59 Prelims Stoyan Koprivlenski defeats Anil Cabri by Unanimous Decision Donovan Wisse defeats Kevin van Heeckeren by Unanimous Decision Miles Simson defeats Kevin Hessling by TKO R1 Robbie Hageman defeats Brahim Kallah by Unanimous Decision
+The Good+ + Quality fights from the get go. No throwaway undercard. + Skvor/Mannaart actually being decent. + While Duut/Bouzidi was clinchy for the most part, the KO was great. + Groenhart taking care of Jaraya. + Beztati/Baya - The Fight. + Jamal Ben Saddik taking care of business. + Cool to see a large Dutch venue filled out in 2018 without Badr fighting. + Not really anything to do with the fights, but I felt relieved when Jamal revealed he'd heard some good medical news.
-The Bad- - YouTube Prelims stream was a bit wonky early on, alternating between fluent and choppy playback a lot. - Zouggary/Ulianov. Not a fun fight to watch. - Beztati/Baya - The Decision. - Rico/Guto proved why I didn't want that fight. - Og3ne.
It's funny, but even though at the time I felt it was mostly a one-sided affair, I also feel Ismael Lazaar probably gave Rico a better fight than Inocente and Brestovac did.
Overall a good, entertaining event.

No Badr mention at the end at all I think this was the upset of the night. ) Anyway cringy Rico verhoven speech did happen as expected LOL. If he did not manage to entertain us in the ring at least succeeded to do so with his speech ) He is like that awkward happy kid from childhood.

RvR backstage "I'm disappointed with myself. I've had trouble making weight. After the first round I noticed things weren't working out. Not sure what's next, but I'm definitely moving back up in weight."
They also showed Rico backstage with his team, friends and family for a bit which was nice.

If he did not manage to entertain us in the ring at least succeeded to do so with his speech ) They actually addressed this in the backstage interview: Reporter: "Rico, you didn't call out Badr. We kind of expected you to." Rico: "Why should I challenge anyone at this point? I'm the champ. I'm always ready for Badr."

I think also he knew that hari would trash talk him like he did with ben saddik. It was a smart move I think, it wasn't his best performence and hari would have taken advantage of this occasion and trash talk him. He might have gotten that "hugging and fucking"( I forgot it lol) speech )
