While I don't like McGregor is getting an easier opponent, I like that Cowboy gets this opportunity and hope he can pull off a stunt here.
I really would have preferred to see Aldo getting a crack at revenge though. Man, I still can't get over that humiliating loss.

aldo starved himself and had some ribs removed to make 135 so I don't think that rematch is ever happening.

For everyone's safety I hope Conor wins.
Other than that, I read a moment ago that Conor 'lost structure' in his life. I wouldn't mind if Cowboy restructures Conor a bit....

I can't help it, but something seemed wrong in this one. Was it really just a pathetic performance from Cowboy? We'll never know, but I watched that "fight" over and over again and it looked pretty fishy - almost Bob Sapp-style.

I mean, Cowboy has lost quickly to way lesser fighters than McGregor. Now he is 36 and on a losing streak.
Aside from a miracle happening this was always going to be a blowout fight, which makes it that much more of a joke that McGregor allegedly made 80 million for it. Even the 3 million that the UFC disclosed would be too much for those 40 seconds of 'work'.

I am not talking about the fact that he lost so quickly and clearly against McGregor, but rather the way it went down. Watching it again: Yeah, those shoulder checks could hurt (but when have we ever seen those before?), the kick landed right on his face and he looked stunned for real. McGregor landed some good shots right after, but from that point on it just seemed to me that Cowboy wanted out. I have never called a fight a dive before (minus Bob Sapp) and I won't do it this time - I even thought the idea that Cowboy of all people would do such a thing is ridicilous - but I will still call it "fishy", unfortunaly.
About fighter pay: I don't know if he got so and so millions - 80, 60, 40 or whatever - it doesn't matter to me and I have realised a long time ago that we are basically just watching millionaires that bash each others head in - even in K-1 times. That's the system and we're all part of it.

My opinion of McGregor as a person aside, he is a unique and unorthodox fighter. Him using a neglected weapon like the shoulders to such great effect says more about him then Cowboy's (in)ability to deal with them. I think once Cowboy got wobbled from those first blows he realized how much out of his depth he was and kind of shut down. I found nothing weird about the way he went down. I'm only disappointed he didn't at least get in a good shot or two.
As for fighter pay, sure, we don't have any real influence on that kind of stuff (aside from voting with our wallets - which I do) but I can still have an opinion about it.

i expected at least a minute and a half. didnt even get that. the fight looked workish. however, donalds face didnt look workish. dude got fucked up. it just looked odd because he basically gave up before the finish came.
