Wilder vs Fury 2 result: Tyson Fury wins in seventh round as Deontay Wilder corner throws in towelwww.telegraph.co.uk/boxing/2020/02/23/deontay-wilder-vs-tyson-fury-2-fight-live-updates/You can watch the fight (and undercard) here. Probably need a VPN outside of The Netherlands. Just watched the fight without knowing the result and I have to say this was pretty much a flawless performance by Fury. Props to Wilder for toughing it out on wobbly legs with what looks like a busted eardrum, but it's good to see his team step in to prevent the damage to get out of hand. Commentary team mentioned a rematch clause in the contract, which I don't have a problem with. Also really liked both fighters in their post-fight interviews, I guess that includes Fury's song lol. We've talked about it a few times over the past couple of years, but I really like heavyweight boxing now.

Fury definitely looked like a beast last night. Not sure what to make about Wilder's performance though. He obviously looked bad, but that might be because he got caught early and never really recovered, probably because of the ear injury as well.
That blood licking though...

is there money in a rematch? I know there is a rematch clause. only thing I can think they could pull from is that Wilder almost finished him in the first fight that he clearly was outboxed in the entire way. I thought the ref did Fury a favor there and that he should have lost via KO... but it didn't happen and it went to the cards which I had him up. but this thrashing in the 2nd fight puts things in jeopardy I think. Fury needs to go fight AJ and make a ton of money filling up Wembley stadium, and not worry about Wilder for now. Wilder has a ton to work on before he can get back in there with him again.

Am I the only one who thinks that the first fight was really close? I feel like sometimes fights are judged (and commentated) a little bit unfair when there is a premise. The premise in this one was that Fury is the one with the jab, who wants to keep things on the outside while Wilder is the heavy puncher who's only headhunting. Of course, there is some truth to that, but imo the reality of the fight was a different one, as Wilder showed a good jab as well, and if you look at the official stats of the fight, then Fury barely landed more than 2 hits more in most of the rounds. However, as I probably (can't remember exactly) thought that Wilder, in some rounds, landed the better strikes, I gave several rounds to him. In the end, I had him one point up.

they were close but clear rounds IMO. when I say clearly outboxed im not saying fury kicked his ass. because he did get dropped twice and pulled an undertaker like rise from the dead from 1 of them. the 2nd fight though Wilder had no answer for the pressure. he got hurt early. he got tired. he tried his hardest to stay in it. he did not give up. but he lost very clearly here when Tyson came to attack this time. could have been caught off guard from a completely different game plan. or maybe its the pressure that was applied. maybe he doesn't deal with that very well with his boxing skills being where they are. hes always needed to improve his boxing but also has always had that uncanny power in his hands so he hasn't really needed to put in that work when it came down to it.

Oh, he was floored twice? I actually just remember the one knockdown, the big one. That was one if not the best recovery I'ver seen. He looked like he's done for sure, then opens up his eyes and stands up like nothing happened. Crazy shit.

9th round and 12th round I do believe. big one being the 12th. but yeah. not sure how he got up suddenly, but he did. and it was pretty amazing to see.

Fury composes himself before he stands up, he does it in earlier fights in his career. Its so you don't stumble and have the ref assume you are flying around mars in your mind.

I like the undertaker rise from the dead theory better.
