ive got gaethje pulling the upset. tony is very hittable and you dont want to be very hittable vs justin gaethje. also want to see him take on Khabib over Tony vs Khabib.

I barely know the two main event fighters, so that's not where my interest lies (will check it out though).
I'm mainly interested in Ngannou vs. Rozenstruik. Rozenstruik was just a mid-level kickboxer, but he's been killin' it in MMA. Let's see how he handles Ngannou's power.
Also somewhat interested in Cowboy/Pettis and Oleinik/Werdum.

You don't really know Tony or Justin? Dude, that fight is going to be a killer. There is no way this fight is not going to be nuts unless it really ends quick or due to some bullshit. You better stay up for this one, I'm telling you.
Oh, and I had actually no idea about Rozenstruik's kickboxing past. So thanks for that info! Ngannou should win though, unless he fights scared again like against Lewis. If he's there mentally, he should be too much for Rozenstuik, I think.

It's just that I've barely watched MMA these past couple of years. I usually only watched highlights from the bigger events and even there just focused on the names I was familiar with.
The good thing about this event drought is that it may just get me back into MMA.

Just watched Gaethje vs. Ferguson without knowing the result and it was really good.
Gaethje was having the better of it for the vast majority of the fight, but Ferguson's ability to take a crazy level of punishment and unorthodox style kept him in there.
Also watched Ngannou/Rozenstruik where Facebook comments spoiled the result for me and.. well that wasn't much of a fight, was it? I won't write Rozenstruik off just yet, because anyone can get killed by a monster shot, but this has to be one of the most spirit crushing ways to lose.
I may watch some more stuff later on, but really liked what I saw so far. The silence due to the lack of an audience gave the whole thing a bit of a surreal feel, but I liked the rawness of being able to hear all the sounds within the octagon, somewhat comparable to the relative silence there is during events in Japan.

Kattar vs Stephens was a really good one too. and lol bringing up Japan. a friend was telling me that the silence was weird and i replied "you must not have ever watched a PRIDE fight" because those were for the most part pretty quiet unless there was a dramatic moment. so it was different but not THAT different for me.

and as for Rozenstruik he got killed. sucks for him being hes the one that called out Ngannou after beating the reem on a bogus stoppage after losing 90% of the fight. not sure on the guy. hes got a good highlight for his reel but i wasnt impressed last fight and certainly cant be impressed by Ngannou quite literally take his soul.

also Justin Gaethje man. that dude was a different person last night. the recklessness everybody talked about with him wasnt there. and thats the part of him that needed to go. He even said it in the post fight interview. I needed to lose to get better. you cant fix what is not broken. He seems like hes learned some tough lessons and is better from it. Cant wait to see him fight Khabib.

Currently, there are two MMA fighters I will always tune in and watch; Alex Oliveira and Justin Gaethe. I was rooting for Gaethe first because he is a madman, fucking crazy dude. All his fights even since WSOF times were just violence, even though I really like Ferguson also. Second because he is the only guy who can beat Khabib. (He is the only one able to stop the takedowns)
After saying that. I think Gaethe gets KTFO against Mcgregor. He is very hittable, maybe not like Ferguson but still very hittable. Mcgregor-Gaethe-Khabib is paper, rock, scissors.
You know that MMA striking is weak when the way to break the once "indecipherable" Dominic Cruz style was just faint-faint-low kick (Cejudo) or just better boxing fundaments and reflexes (Garbrandt). No wonder de Randamie, Shevchenko, Adesanya and now Riddel go through MMA like a knife on hot butter.
Dissapointed on Rozenstruik. I know Ngannou is a scary mofo but he just made that rush like a total amateur opening himself like a flower. Not even a jab attempt, or standard guard defense by the guy who knocked the fuck out of Badr's next opponent.
Admin, if you have the chance, watch all Gaethe UFC fights, and also his fights against Luis Palomino in WSOF, all of them are amazing. In fact this may be his most boring fight in years.

i love the way gaethje got to where he is at for sure. but you just cant do it that way against everybody. i wish you could because its crazy fun, but you cant.
