I heard Pettas was the ring announcer and Ishii was hanging around too. What an odd reunion.

I didn't know about Pettas, but I did spot Ishii on a picture.

Kumite! Kumite! Kumite!
Apparently they had a pretty solid crowd. It'd be crazy if this resparked kickboxing in Japan.

Yeah. That's Prince Ali, one time K-1 fighter and previous HEAT HW Champ.

I remember him, I think he was in a reserve fight for one of the Asian Tournaments.

Results Hoost defeats Aerts by Unanimous Decision (49-47, 50-49, 50-49) Pirani defeats Leko by R4 TKO (Leko suffered an injury to his right foot) Munie defeats Ali (replacement for Arrab) by R2 KO (Uppercut?) Sakmongkol defeats Yokoyama by R2 TKO (Three knockdowns; left high kick and punch combinations)
Apparently the report does not mention why Arrab did not fight (injury?)

Just returned from work and watched the fight.
First off the footage is of pretty bad quality and filmed from a bad angle. I spotted at least two guys filming with a semi-professional camera from up close to the ring/the neutral corner so I'd like to see that footage when it becomes available as it will problably make the fight look a lot better.
Having said that the fight itself wasn't bad, especially considering Hoost is 49 and Aerts turns 44 in a few days. There was a lot of clinching and slips, but I think a lot of that has to do with Hoost still being somewhat rusty and Aerts basically fighting with a handicap. I suspect the Karate pants were to hide a taped up leg.
As long as neither of them fight any beasts like Ghita or Hari they should be fine fighting lower level guys and/or other veterans.
Too bad the venue was more or less empty other than ground floor level, but this was a new org with little to no promotion and having any kind of crowd for a show under those circumstances in Japan at this point can be considered somewhat of a win I guess. I wonder how the K-1 Japan GP will do in less than two weeks.
