Was a pretty awesome show from start to finish with lots of KO's and and some great fights. Surprised to see Yoshiki Takei announce an end to his kickboxing career. Sad, but i wish him good luck, he certainly has the talent to become a top pro boxer. First Kubo and now Takei. Tenshin Nasukawa is talking about making the same move
The prelim fights were a good start to the show. They were pretty decent with all of them ending in KO.
Fukashi redeemed himself after a bad performance in his last fight 3 months ago. Suzuki didn't give it to him either, he made Fukashi work for the win.
After his win, Taio Asahisa asked to take on the winner of Hayashi vs Gonnapar for the title. He's been on a good roll lately and deserves it.
Ashizawa vs Shimano was a war ! I really didn't expect much from him after coming out of retirement. Fight of the night #2 behind Kimura vs Cheetah.
What's up with Hirotaka Urabe ? First he missed weight by 2 kg's and then the barrage of groin kicks. It started out being a pretty competitive fight, but the DQ definitely put a sour note on an otherwise solid event. Maybe Urabe was a little rusty after having been inactive for more than a year, but come on Hiro-san, you're an experienced veteran that people expect better from.
Kimura vs Cheetah - fight of the night. Wow what a slugfest. Cheetah has quite a chin and looks to pack some pop himself. He took everything Kimura could dish out and then some. The cut put a premature end to a very exciting fight. It was good to see Kimura get challenged as a lot of his recent opponents were not in his league. I also would love to see Kimura rematch with Cheetah and Pikeur of course. For that matter Cheetah vs Pikeur would be a good one as well. I hope they bring him back too. I don't know what the caliber of his previous opponents was, but with a little more experience he could definitely be a force in K-1. He's young, tough and has some natural size to him.
Congrats to Gonnapar winning the lightweight title.

Here's 19 glorious minutes of all the knockdowns and KO's:
Also looks like most of the fights have been uploaded to K-1's YouTube channel.
If you've missed this event, you owe it to yourself to watch at least these two fights:

Just watched all the early fights I missed live. Lots of good stuff there. Some guys really got blitzed.
Fukashi vs. Suzuki Hayato was pretty crazy as well:
4 back and forth knockdowns in 1 round!

All 3 of those fights are strong candidates for K-1 Fight of the year at the K-1 Awards.
