Andrei Stoica claims that he is aware that he will have a tough opponent, so he has to give his best.
Do you think that Friday's match will reach a "decision" or will you end it before the gong of the last round?
We'll see how the match ends. It is important for me to win the match and bring the belt home. I know I have a tough opponent, so I'll give my best.
Andrei Stoica: "I don't know if I've ever fought an opponent of his height!"
What opponent in your career does look the most like Roman Kryklia?
I don't know if I've ever fought an opponent of his height, but I've had a few tall opponents. I think he looks a lot like Tomas Hron. I think Roman is a little better than him, but we'll see. He's explosive, has length and technique, I think a very nice match will come out. It will definitely be a challenge to match.
What would it mean for you to win the ONE world title?
Winning the title would be for me a dream come true, a culmination of all the sacrifices I have made throughout my sporting life.

Any rips? He's growing like hell in just some months. Bottom photo is from June, this one from October.
Look at the guy on the right, Zuev! Top photo. Only the fitness coach looks the same.
Zuev is double, Kryklia almost the same.

I don't know why you're on about Kryklia being some HW monster again, the dude has basically been 100 kg (+-2 kg) without cutting weight, for years. Tall, skinny build guy who could've fought 95 kg in Glory and did fight 95 kg in K-1 Euro and elsewhere. Can probably afford to bulk up a little for ONE as the weigh-ins don't seem quite as stringent what they've tried to make them seem to be.
Think Stoica weighed-in 200 grams lighter than Kryklia at ONE and Khababez was heavier. We have divisions based on weight, not reach, and here Kryklia doesn't even cut weight to have a competitive advantage. Sato had height/reach on most in MAX, still a MAX guy and nobody dismisses him because he could've/should've fought up a division or whatever. Stoica chooses where he fights, nobody makes him.
Also maybe not too bad for Stoica to have a warmup fight under his belt. Kryklia hasn't fought in a year and I guess by the time of the fight he will been locked in a hotel in Singapore for 3 weeks. Who knows how rusty he might be. But hey, let's just make excuse after excuse for Stoica.
All these first fights after corona are a bit iffy, don't really know how much someone has been training when there's been no fights, or if they even have been able to with gyms possibly being closed etc.
Zuev is a pretty skinny version of himself in the earlier pic. Maybe hit the gym a little extra again after a while with no real fights, seems to usually be in pretty great shape.

Stoica had 95 in DFS. He dropped from 106 according to the DFS interview, in ONE he was over 100 I think. Nobody is stupid to come at 93 if the maximum is 102. It's a division between 93 and 102. The main issue is not the fight on short notice, but they had a convention of fighting in 2021. He even asked Chatri if he can fight in Romania and then spend his holidays.
Kryklia will cut from very high, potentially from 110. He will have 106-107 at the match hour.
Stoica is stupid to take this fight, he came unprepared for Voronin because he participated in some television show on longer term. For such a fight you need a great preparation, and I have never seen Kryklia unprepared in the last years.
Why to be locked in a hotel in Singapore? I don't get it, Stoica goes straight to the match almost. On Facebook he was still in ROU.
I don't see how you can make -95 and -102 in just 2 weeks, with dozens of hours on the road (flights). Plus Kryklia is the stronger, 7-8 kilograms in plus would be huge. I wonder about the weigh in, do they ever publish it?
Chatri puts his fighters in danger, just because Kryklia was off and wanted to fight. He should have fought somebody like "Ghajji" of Doumbe.

Also maybe not too bad for Stoica to have a warmup fight under his belt. Stoica's 'warm-up fight' two weeks ago didn't go too well. He should have fought somebody like "Ghajji" of Doumbe. Isn't that more or less what's happening now? I get that Stoica is more in his prime than Ghajji, but in terms of name value it's pretty similar. And again, Stoica is an adult who makes his own decisions.

No way, Ghajji is 40 year old next month. I don't know what Stoica will do, but Ghajji will look slow. The Frenchman was stopped by Raymond Daniels in Bellator in 2017. He has lost all his reflexes year after year. It's a mismatch because Gafencu didn't want to take the fight on short notice being already in winter holidays. Nobody wanted to take this fight on short notice, and many are in holidays.
Doumbe by KO in the first 3 rounds, I hardly see Ghajji resisting for 2 rounds.

That's really not the point I was making. As I literally said when Ghajji was announced:
I'm fully aware that Ghajji is more likely to do badly. He's been less active and up there in age. However, he is also fighting a much more talented opponent than Stoica is within the weightclass. Doumbé is pretty much the #1 welterweight, whereas Kryklia is good, but probably only in the lower top 10 among the LHW/HW range - depending on who you're measuring him up against.
In terms of starpower/legacy Stoica really isn't above Ghajji to me. Maybe if he wins a meaningful title or beats some big names when they're not way past their prime.
PMing me "Ghajji is shit" while turning it into some weird Gafencu gossip/promotion only makes you look like a crazy person.

Yes, I have this info now about who was approached.
Doumbe ain't so talented, the welterweight division in Glory and even overall has been pretty weak. Much weaker than the light heavyweight, if you want I can bring proofs. A formerly dominated division by Holzken and with a nobody like Jamies Bates beating overrated Harut Grigorian.
Doumbe's leg kicks are also poor, he'a leading in one of the weakest divisions alongside the middleweight. But at the middleweight I can find better fighters than the lower Eufusion bums proposed by Combat Press, outside. In the light heavyweight I can definitely find great fighters outside than the bums Hameur Lain, Susperregui, Machado and even Micheletti.
I don't care about rankings anyway, the WW is the poorest division in Glory. Well, after the featherweight if it counts.

Your great Ghajji was awful against "great" Valtellini. This division has been always one of the poorest alongside the featherweight in Glory. Saki, Spong, Ilunga, Corbett, Cavalari, Andrei Stoica, Bogdan Stoica now, Samedov before, Vakhitov, Zhuravlev, Abena, Cairo, even Loren, El Bouni, Kwasi, Cozmanca, Maslobojev, Tavares, Pereira now, even Micheletti, Plazibat, Khbabez before, Hron before, Baute, Sikking, Duut, Hutnik, Ciobanu, Mineev before, Verlinden, Bouzidi, Jallon, Andrew Tate before, prime El Boustati, about what are we talking about? The welterweight is a trash of a division compared to the light heavyweight where Stoica "used" to fight. Oh, and I barely know a single valuable French kickboxer, all are overrated! Minus Doumbe, but the guy from Cameroon isn't as good as some think. Holzken was much more proven than him, although the same fighting in a poor Glory division.

Doumbe and Pet are the least proven champions in Glory. Doumbe is poorer than prime Holzken. Imagine this guy lost to the poorest version of Groenhart, a fighter who has been stagnating for years and only when he won K-1 was really great. In the past he lost twice to limited Yoann Kongolo, now imagine I thought that era is ended but in 2018 he lost to Nabiev. Basically Doumbe has beaten no one. 1-1 against a non-prime Groenhart, 1-1 against this non-fantastic Nabiev, 2-0 against very old Holzken. Vienot, Thongchai and Scheinson, these are fighters worth for a so called "champion"? Between April 2016 and October 2016, Doumbe fought 8 bums. Between 2013 and 2015 again, many bums. It proves how poor is this division.
The fans of the welterweight division in Glory are always the biggest noobs, tricked by some technicity in a sea of limited opponents.
All are good until they fight worth opponents.

It's funny how your logic works, depending on what BS narrative you're trying to push. When SuperKombat is the greatest promotion on the planet: Regarding Superkombat, in the years when they didn't pump so much money, they discovered new names. They continued to promote the greatest talent. SK pushed in the last years: - Jamie Bates (Glory, defeated Harut Grigorian recently)
When Weltwerweight is the weakest division on the planet: A formerly dominated division by Holzken and with a nobody like Jamies Bates beating overrated Harut Grigorian. See how Jamie Bates went from one of the greatest talents to a nobody, depending on what argument you're trying to win? Your great Ghajji was awful against "great" Valtellini. Still looked better than Stoica against Voronin and that was just two weeks ago. Valtellini was on his way to become the Glory champion when they fought. All this talk from you about Doumbé fighting bums, but two weeks ago Stoica got his ass kicked by a much smaller fighter who doesn't even have a wiki page. I don't like calling fighters bums, but if anyone has a history of padding their records fighting unknown, last-minute, past-their-prime opponents look no further than your heroes. Now I like a lot of Romanian fighters, including the Stoica brothers, but they did enjoy a lot of protection and help in local promotions. You know, the kind of protection and help you always accuse other promotions of. Then you go on to say: Oh, and I barely know a single valuable French kickboxer, all are overrated! Minus Doumbe, but the guy from Cameroon isn't as good as some think. If you hadn't already lost me multiple times before, this one would have done the trick. But aside from us disagreeing on kickboxing, which is fine and what this forum is for, why even mention Doumbé as 'the guy from Cameroon'? You see, usually I wouldn't think much of a comment like that. Doumbé does after all have Cameroonian roots. However, you're active as arjenvos on the Dutch Mixfight forum and recently made some racist comments about Doumbé there. You've also made some sexist comments as Broadcast on Sherdog. Not to mention the history you've had on this forum as roy2015, glory, effinisback etc. I don't want to see any funny business here.
