While I definitely share some of his negative sentiments toward Glory, Hesdy hasn't exactly been a model citizen himself. I'm not sure publically burning bridges is a good strategy, especially at this stage of his career. |

Was thinking a while ago maybe Glory should sign Hesdy for some fights now if they had Overeem, Saki, Spong kind of guys. Hesdy might be an okay name to throw in that mix as a guy who can seem to be able to do a little media and has some K-1/It's Showtime creds as well.

What a stark contrast to Michael Bisping:
If the guy was a legit threat in any way I have no issue with putting him down, but a pro fighter sucker punching a somewhat annoying drunk guy half his size reminds me of why I never really liked Schilling to begin with.
I guess he needs every 'win' he can get.
Hope the guy he knocked out is okay.

He couldn't have incriminated himself more if he tried. He very much says he was looking to hit the guy. That 'scared for my life' BS is the cherry on top. You don't turn around to confront someone if you're scared for your life. And a pro fighter being scared by a drunk, harmless looking guy half his size who isn't a fighter? Please.
The whole incident 'coincidentally' being filmed from just before it happened is suspect as well.
Looking at the reactions it's sad how many people think this was cool, funny or see Joe as some kind of hero. To add insult to injury, Joe fanboys and other keyboard warriors are talking shit to the victim on his own Facebook page.
Makes me wish they would have been on the receiving end of that attack. You wouldn't believe how quick they'd become advocates of showing restraint.
Even if this guy actually is a total piece of shit who just received a dose of karma - which we have no proof of whatsoever - it still doesn't justify Schilling's behaviour.

Probably said that on advice from his lawyer. The guy did have aggressive behaviour towards Joe. Of course de-escalation is the high road but some guys have too much pride for that. But considering the guy is a manlet a sucker punch is unwarranted, he could have just told the guy off.

Just watched the podcast: - Co-host Ronny mentioned they've been getting some messages on Twitter with news and rumors from Romania. - At 35 Londt says his career isn't gonna last much longer and he wants to do one last run at a serious title. - Londt has received several offers from promotions in Romania and Turkey, mostly for single fights. - He isn't really interested in those offers as he doesn't want to risk getting injured against unknown fighters, possibly shortening his career. - Since ONE hasn't given Londt a fight yet, he may consider getting out of his contract. - Londt says he was supposed to fight Rico after winning the contender tournament in Glory. - Glory didn't want to give him the Rico fight and gave him the Hesdy and Jamal fights instead. Londt says he shouldn't have accepted those. - Londt is still open to fight in Glory, but they haven't contacted him yet. - Ronny says Overeem vs. Rico is rumoured for October. I think those are the main points. |
