I tweeted Dana White prior to Hunt's UFC debut against Sean McCorkle, asking for him (nicely, of course) to do whatever he could to slide the fight in AT THE END OF THE PRELIMS (this was back when not every fight was guaranteed to be televised or available via 'net) as I was a big Hunt fan and his was one of the two fights on that particular card that WASN'T guaranteed TV coverage. He had the courtesy to tweet back and promised to do what he could. The fight was squeezed on at the very end of the prelim broadcast (if you recall, Hunt tapped in rapid order) and my crew of friends that gather together for selected UFC events were present and, I hasten to add, had never seen Hunt-o fight before, so I had to take it on the chin as they poked fun at me for the next 3 hours for supporting a "useless, fat K-1 warthog" for so long.
Fast forward to the present day and all of those friends of mine, to a man, that were present the night of the McCorkle debacle texted or whatsapp'd me to say how pleased they were that Hunt was getting this shot, especially so after supporting him through most of his career!!!!

Hunt is basically one win away from completing a James J Braddock style comeback. To think this there was a time when he was losing fights quickly and looking totally uninterested in a couple of them. Whatever happens in the fight he has still done fantastically well to even get there. Hope he wins.
