Couldn't agree more about the fight order as that's usually in the realm of things I complain about.
I liked van Soest/Moussaddak for what it was, but it should definitely have been placed lower on the card as it was easily the least entertaining fight.
Two things though: - In a weird sense it helped making Badr/Reem look better. Had that come straight after Maslobojev/Khbabez the difference in quality between main and co-main would have been more drastic. And I liked Badr/Reem for what that was. - I think the booing was more about van Soest winning than anything else.

Was a fun event. So happy Maslobojev won! Regarding the booing, Glory also brought it on themselves a little. The ladies fight had no business being the co-main, should've been first of the title fights. You schedule the most likely boring fight right before a Badr main event...what do you expect? Not hating on women's fights here but you should also know your fighters and the audience a little. Reminds me of when Enfusion used to have a female fight ~halfway into their main card every time, never mind the quality of the fight, they just put a female fight in the middle of the card even if it was a expectedly going to be a relatively low quality fight. Often they had such good atmosphere going then to just completely kill it in the middle of the event with some random fight that clearly belonged on the undercard. Lower quality fights go lower on the card, you build up towards the end. With a TVS title fight you shouldn't exactly chuck it on the prelims but it should've been earlier on the card than it was. Scheduling the fight like this serves nobody. TOTALLY agree! I was so happy throughout the event, as I'm not really into Glory: I was impressed, or at least happy with the quality of the production and the fights. But then the van Soest fight happened - and my mood went down a bit. And to be honest I think it fired up a lot of the people in the audience who don't know or don't want to behave in a proper way. So yeah they kind of brought it on themselves. To be honest I also think that people were a bit confused or maybe even disappointed that Overeem looked and fought the way he did. I like the guy and the fighter but he really looked like a downsized Bob Sapp (exaggerated, I know)...... compared to when he fought in K-1 and won the WGP. Yes I know he is older. But I fought when I was 47 (after a ten year lay-off) and my technique was there, the experience was there - but I severely lacked the speed!! I really hope that Overeem and co. get's him sorted for his fight vs. Verhoeven - then it can be entertaining. But overall I was happy with the event, and don't mind that I was actually working on a Saturday night.

I don't think it's Reem's age so much as it is the fact that his last kickboxing fight was 12 years ago. He's been in the UFC for a decade and over time his style turned into something very different compared to what it was when he became K-1 champion or even his early UFC fights. His stance was very similar to that of his buddy James McSweeney when he fought Gökhan Saki last year. Some people call it an MMA stance, some people say it's a classic boxing stance. Either way, you'd expect Badr to do what Saki did and spam lowkicks while throwing up straight knees whenever Overeem walked in with his head low. It's a style that's very dangerous to use under standup rules where knees and kicks are allowed. Here's the thing though; weird or not, it worked for Alistair. It didn't work out for his buddy, but it did for him. I don't think he'll try the same thing against Rico, though. I'm expecting to see a different, more dangerous Overeem. Of course, Rico is an easy favorite going into it, but I don't think that fight will be quite the joke that most people seem to expect. At the very least it should be entertaining, whatever may happen. Also - and I know this sounds cliché - but if your job is in something you're passionate about, it's not really "work". At least not in the negative sense most of us would associate with work .

I totally agree mate. Definitely the 'being away from the sport' and fighting under different rules that did it. If Overeem can find his way back to something which is close to what he used to be in the K-1 days, I actually think he can win (over any Heavyweight)! I know: I'm one lucky guy - working with my passion. Getting paid to surf the internet and look for information. Information I'd be looking for even if I wasn't paid. So NO complaining here. AT all. I'm very fortunate and blessed and love every moment of it. PS: and thanks for inspiring me to write an article on Plazibat the other day: www.fightsports.tv/overeems-win-over-hari-bad-news-for-plazibat/

The event broke records for Videoland www.rtlnieuws.nl/entertainment/artikel/5339029/gevecht-hari-overeem-zorgt-voor-recordaantal-abonnees-videolandThe streaming service saw the record for most new subscriptions in a single day broken by over 50% from its previous record in 2018. The event set another record for most streamed title in a single day. On average, viewers watched for 2 hours and 45 minutes. Unfortunately, no exact numbers were made public. This is good to see, though. I think it's the combination of the service being fairly priced (starts at 5 bucks per month) and Badr being on the card.
