Weigh-ins just wrapped up.
Not sure I mentioned this before, but it's great to see Giuliana Cosnard being brought back after she defeated Tessa de Kom at Rivals 5 in Mexico. Her and Moussaddak definitely looked fired up.
Tavares and Rajabzadeh looked ready to go as well. Tavares looked a bit soft around the body and I suspect he'll gas out quick, which may be an issue against a wild fighter like Bahram.
Not sure what to expect from Petch/Chikh Mousa yet, but it should be entertaining.
Overall I think this'll be a fun card. Would be cool if they announced some additional stuff for future events during this one as well.

Kick-off is in roughly 3 hours.
Apparently the first couple of fights are considered part of the main card, so no prelims this time.

Quick thoughts + Some minor gripes aside, I found this a very enjoyable event with mostly good fights and only one whopper of a stinker in the middle. + Cool to see van Roosmalen put the belt on Petch, but it was obvious they got him there to 'knight' his fan Chikh Mousa lol. + Petch/Chikh Mousa was a solid and competitive fight. While Petch dominated the majority of it, had that fight been 1 round longer I would have put my money on Chikh Mousa. He was able to tag Petch throughout the fight and also landed multiple sweeps, which is rare to pull off against a Thai fighter. Also a good comeback victory for Petch after his loss to Beztati. + Beautiful highkick knockdown Petch scored on Chikh Mousa. + Laïdouni scoring the upset against Adegbuyi with a great performance. It sucks for Benny, but this was another passing of the torch fight which we've seen a lot lately in Glory. Laïdouni joins Osaro as the second man in the Grand Prix. + Rajabzadeh destroys a clearly out of shape Tavares in less than a round. Disappointing to see this version of Tavares, but a great upset victory and performance by Rajabzadeh. + Luckily Billet vs. Kehl followed up Moussaddak / Cosnard as it was the perfect palate cleanser. Great fight and great Glory debut by Kehl. + Dominant performance by Kwasi. Ciric wanted revenge for a previous loss to Kwasi outside of Glory, but just came up short - both literally and figuratively. At times he really was in survival mode. He did land a nice spinning back kick all the way to Kwasi's face in R3, but it didn't have a lot of power behind it. + While there is still much room for improvement, this was a better performance from de Sousa. Probably helped that he didn't fight a top guy this time. Lutterbach did too little. + Completely different Jürjendal from his fight against Khachab. Impressive performance. Rimdeika didn't look half bad himself until he got caught.
- Bit of a messy round stoppage at the end of Petch/Chikh Mousa. - Unfortunately Chikh Mousa brought a bunch of Badr Army type fanboys with him that had to be told to sit down in order for the fight to start. So weird to hear the champion being bood, especially a guy like Petch. - I bring this up every time it happens, but I'm not a fan of title challengers getting the hometown advantage. - All that drama surrounding Tavares only for him to show up with this performance. Clearly there is more going on with Luis that we don't know of and I hope he is able to recover both physically and mentally. - One judge giving Cosnard a round lol. - Moussaddak / Cosnard was easily the worst fight I've seen not just on this card, but probably the last couple of years. As happy as I was for Cosnard being invited back, her constant clinching and elbows completely ruined the flow of the fight. All point deductions were completely justified.
Additional notes * A bit surprising to hear Petch speak English. Good kind of surprising. * Cool to see Stefan Leko ringside. * Manhoef and Remy had some discussions during the broadcast, namely about McSweeney being announced as Badr's opponent lol. * During the Videoland broadcast they showed a video of Manhoef's reaction to Tavares getting knocked out and the whole studio lost it. It was pretty hilarious and I hope the whole thing finds its way to YouTube. They make a habit of showing Manhoef's studio reactions as he really gets into watching the fights. * I didn't see a lot of shots of the crowd during the Videoland broadcast, but the fact that the event wasn't sold out and most of the venue was dark gives me the impression that there were lots of empty seats. * I've had an issue with the Videoland stream cutting out a few times. Not sure if this was caused by my internet connection or the Videoland app, but luckily I was able to reconnect within ~20 seconds when it happened. * They sort of shadow dropped Badr vs. McSweeney for Glory 88 on us lol.

^Agree with absolutely all of that.
Tavares has talked a bit like he really took his doping L pretty badly. Perhaps he has had a touch time accepting it. I was still expecting him to be able to handle this fight just by routine even if he didn't give a particularly career high performance. Everything Rajabzadeh threw affected Tavares.
I wonder what is ahead for Adegbuyi now. I somewhat looked at this fight as his last chance for a run at success. Win this fight, win the tournament or at least do well, fight Rico...
Now, even though it wasn't an awful performance by any means, he still lost. Tough to put him in the tournament and at 38yo I don't see him keep his level up for much longer. Specially if he more or less knows he won't have anything significant coming up in Glory for more than half a year.

Petch was being booed during his post fight interview like he's Tiffany van Soest

Yeah Petch being booed felt almost a bit surreal. To the crowd's credit, by the end of his post-fight interview most of the booing turned into clapping and even some cheering.
As far as Tavares goes, hopefully all he needs is some time. This version of him would have had issues with Sljivar had that fight gone through.
I'm still giving Adegbuyi the benefit of the doubt as he was dealing with the aftermath of the car accident and his wife needing surgery as a result (I believe she has a plate in her shoulder, something like that). It's tough to be away from your family for 1-2 months amidst all of that. Benny also looked a bit more flabby around the waist compared to his previous few fights. And that's not to take anything away from Laïdoini, because he did great. But there's still time for Benny to get things back on track and qualify for the tournament another way. If he loses his next fight as well then yeah, I think we can safely say Benny is close to retirement.
