I have tried to give Izzy the benefit of the doubt over the years for his antics, but things like this ^ is why I just can't like the guy. Who holds a grudge against a little kid for years like that?

For me it's the complete opposite.

Pereira has been going out of his way to ricidule and annoy Izzy for years.
Of course his kid is just aping his father, but that doesn't mean kids can't be annoying/mean/hurtful. On the contrary.

Izzy gave that brat a taste of his own medicine. It's not like he punched him in the face.

That's why as a grown man you should probably rise above it... you did just knock his dad out cold!

To be fair I haven't followed any of the history between these two other than what gets shown on the PPV broadcast.

I mean, I can't possibly imagine the adrenaline rush Izzy must have felt at that moment taking their whole history into account. It definitely felt like a heat of the moment thing to me and not like something that really warrants harsh criticism from those who didn't like it. None of us are perfect and nothing's easier than judging from the outside.

For what it's worth, both Izzy and Pereira were very respectful after things had calmed down:
