Pretty cool trailer, can't blame them for leaning on stars from the past generation.
As for prize money, if there's no mention of it at all it's safe to assume to be well below Grand Prix tournaments of the past or Glory's GP.
I believe the first GP in '93 had a grand prize of $100K. Wouldn't be surprised if this will be closer to that number.

Don't think they've said anything about that. Doesn't need to be that high for this tournament lineup tbh. Pretty cool trailer, can't blame them for leaning on stars from the past generation. I get kinda K-1 Global vibes from it...

Announcing a "rebirth" doesnt come with a magic money tree as far as I know, so prolly safe to assume its still just the same 2023 K-1 we know and will pay as such.

I get kinda K-1 Global vibes from it... It's probably the English voice-over and footage from the FEG era. Doesn't quite feel like it was made by the Japanese media team. Let's hope nothing else gives anyone K-1 Global vibes .

Michael Schiavello is the official commentator for K-1 now. Don't know if it has been mentioned here.

He was part of their announcement crew back in July so it makes sense. Good to have it confirmed, though.

Streaming on DAZN internationally.
I was thinking there's a good chance they'd just hop on KOK's DAZN deal for the 1st show(s). Not sure if that's what happened here or did they actually sign a deal on their own.

I've heard DAZN being mentioned a lot when it comes to boxing and smaller MMA/kickfighting promotions, but I've also heard them not really being taken serious.
Is DAZN a big player or are they just small fry?

DAZN is owned by Len Blavatnik I think, so a shit load of money has been sunk into it, but is generally regarded as a joke in regards to combat sports from what I have read. I also heard they have many issues in regards to stream quality, and I remember they charged someone ten times for a boxing PPV at a price of $80 lol. I think the biggest issues people have had with them is their price hikes and running the ppv is dead angle, only to head in that direction not long after launch.

We also have our tournament matchups: Sucks that there wasn't a proper draw, but I guess this also isn't the 'proper' Grand Prix yet and more of a test-run / kick-off thing. If this is the correct order of fights it means Sattari and Karimian are in the same bracket. Interesting.

Seriously considering buying DAZN... They have RWS, KOK and now this. Some good boxing as well

Before the line-up was revealed, I actually thought it would be either Istrate or Jemai winning the Grand Prix. They seemed to stand out the most to me.

Seriously considering buying DAZN... They have RWS, KOK and now this. Some good boxing as well I'm going to get it to watch K-1 (hopefully) hassle-free. They haven't added K-1 to the schedule on their website yet, though. It always annoys me when companies take their sweet time. Before the line-up was revealed, I actually thought it would be either Istrate or Jemai winning the Grand Prix. They seemed to stand out the most to me. I honestly have no clue who to pick. Based on records I want to go with Machado, but it's been a few years since he was a Glory contender and that was at LHW.

They haven't added K-1 to the schedule on their website yet, though. It always annoys me when companies take their sweet time. DAZN works quite well in my experience. Think they only keep past events only for a week or something tho, not too smart by them IMO. Wish they had announced how long of a deal was signed with K-1. Got no idea if they are on DAZN for years or even if this might just be K-1 hopping on KOK/prime fight tv channel's deal with DAZN. They stream all kinds of events on DAZN. K-1 being on there might be a really temporary thing, lasting exactly as long as it takes for them to get a deal of their own somewhere. Can't make much of a pick either. Sattari might take it I suppose. Don't think Istrate can take the whole tournament, doubt Karimian can beat 3 guys either. Jemai is a question mark for me, don't know him. Looks ok the little I've seen him, but who's he really fought? Turynski might be able to get a decision over anyone in the tournament, but he shouldn't be winning 3 fights in a row. Peak Machado would be a favourite, but he's not at his peak anymore and he's not a true heavyweight. He's probably going to have to beat 2 "competent" true heavyweights to make it to the finals. Doesn't Machado tend to gas out in his fights too? Better get some quick knockouts... Bordianu is just ok and Liu Ce is a Chinese heavyweight, which isn't a winning thing to be. Pretty open for tournament randomness. Quick wins early in the tournament could go a long way in winning here.
